Wamu Personal Online Banking

WaMu Online?

I am considering opening a WaMu account online for a small online sole proprietorship I am starting.

They do not have any branches or banking centers in my area, so all transactions would have to be conducted online.

They do not offer a small business checking account online, so I would have to go with a personal account and use that for operations.

Is this a good option or should I just break down and go to a more expensive bank in my area? My biggest concerns would be transferring cash from my day to day checking to this account and overall hassle not having a brick and mortar bank here.

Any additional advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I agree with the previous answer. I have worked in a bank, in the small business deposit accounts. You should have an account with the business name on it, especially if you are going to have checks made out to the business name. I know for a fact that will WaMu may not accept a deposit with the business name on it to your personal account. Shop around the banks in your area I am sure you will find one that fits your needs.

Does anyone use WAMU online checking and Savings? It is 5.00% APY for the savings?

and the checking is supposed to be free with free online bill pay and debit card too.

Is this one of the better offers out there and does anyone have any personal experience using them? If so, how long and what has your experience been so far? Can they replace your regular brick and mortar bank?

I am looking into it for the 5.00%APY, but I want to make sure that I can access my $ in an emergency so a checkbook/debit would be nice.

I want direct deposit. If I paid on Friday and have it direct deposted, would it show up on friday or would it take a few days? Thanks, your experience is appreciated very much!
I am wanting users personal experience with using WAMU online.

Contacting WAMU would not give me the user's experiences. I hardly think that WAMU reps would say ' Gee, our customers have trouble transferring funds all the time' or 'Gee, our servers are down frequently'

why don't you just talk into the bank and talk to new accounts!!!

Please help me find a bank, which one is best?

I currently have an account at Washington Mutual. I use it but my parents fund it, for food, gas, etc. things that parents would pay. I want to open another account since i have my own personal savings on the side for personal expenses.

is it uncommon to have more than one debit card? Should i look for another bank besies WaMu to open 2nd account? what about online banks ie ING or Etrade Financial?

important considerations:
-interest rate not super important
-want to have simple, easy, depositing/withdrawing, few fees -lots of locations(in California) so i can withdraw/deposit from atms/locations w/o being charged
-care more about checking than savings

Thanks!!

NOT bank of america!!!

Which is Bank is the best Bank?

I want to open a personal checking and savings account...Which one of all the popular banks out there is the best one for this? and why?
Bank of America? WaMu? Citibank? Suntrust? Wachovia? Chase?
Help please! I don't want to screw this up!
Please share good or bad experiences with costumer service (if you want).
Best credit cards? Best savings plan? Most amount of locations? Benefits? Best online banking website? e.t.c
Thank you in advance!

I have banked at Wamu, Key Bank, and Wellsfargo. I have found that Wellsfargo and Key Bank have high fees for their savings and checking accounts unless you have very high balances, which I don't. I do like Wellsfargo for my student loans, car loan and line of credit though.

I really like Wamu I have a checking account their that they charge no fees for whatsoever they also give you free checks for life. (Key charged me $25!!!) My savings account also has no fees and has a amazing rate of 3.75%. They give you 1 free overdraft a year incase of an oops and $.04 back at the end of the year for every debit or credit transaction you make. I made like $32 this year.

I love Wamu!

Which is the Best Bank (personal checking account)?

Which bank is the best one to have a checking account with for someone who has less than $3000 in their checking account?

I looked this up on here and most ppl said it was WaMu... yeah, we know what happened with that. I never banked with them but I am with Chase right now anyways. Several things have been happening this month which has scared me off a little. I don't know if I should stay or leave. I really don't want to do the credit union thing. The closest one to me is an hour away! Here's what happened and mind you, these events have all happened within the month of April:

1) I had two payment stubs. One for my checking, one for a credit card payment. The teller gave me two receipts. It was my fault because I didn't check them right then and there. Both deposits went into my checking account. When I looked online at the payment stubs I noticed one (the one for my checking) was in my handwriting. The one that was supposed to be a credit card payment was in someone elses. Where my credit card payment stub went I have NO idea. I don't know if the teller took it, threw it away, or why they decided to ignore it and write up another stub.

2) I went to the drive up window to deposit money. I waited for a receipt. When the little container came down there was $100 and a driver's license so I sent it back because it wasn't mine. I have also gotten a receipt that was someone elses and the only reason I noticed was because the amount was different then what I deposited, but that happened in March

3) Paid my credit card online from a checking account transfer after 3 days of it not going through I thought I did it wrong so I called to have them do it. They said there was no record of any transfers pending so they did it over the phone. The next day the phone transfer AND my online transfer that I did showed up even though they said there was no pending transfer.

4) Called to ask them to reverse it. They charged me $50 for the reverse as well as insufficient funds fee after they had transferred the money TWICE from my checking to my credit card when I only wanted it once. That's why I asked if there was a pending payment in the first place.

I'm not an idiot. I have had a bank account with Bank One for 9 years then it switched to Chase and I so I continued my business with them. I never once had a problem with my account or anything. EVER. So maybe it all added up and they decided to mess with me now.

So should I just accept it all as an accident and go on. Cause I never have problems before, or go to another bank? I'm really loosing my faith in banks right now and I kinda want to just take all my money out and pay my bills with money orders even if I have to pay extra for it.

Either A. Haul your cookies to a credit union OR
B. Cash everything and put it some place safe in your house.

WaMu Sued After Woman Slips, Falls & Dies - Wrongful Death - The ...

All we know from the complaint  (DocStoc) is that about two years ago, a "foreign substance" on the floor of a Washington Mutual Bank branch on West Morse Ave. caused Rose Marie Moreno to slip and fall. Her injuries from the fall allegedly led to her death two days later.

Her surviving daughter Tabatha is the named plaintiff in the lawsuit against WaMu (along with parent company JP Morgan Chase and others) for wrongful death and survival linked to premises liability.

The foreign substance, whatever it was, "had been blown or tracked into WaMu Bank," eventually taking down the deceased. There is plenty of detail in the complaint, but more or less limited to a restatement of the fact that a) the floor was unacceptably dirty and b) Mrs. Moreno slipped, fell and died soon thereafter. The incident sure makes a strong argument for online banking.
