I live in Alabama I need a bank with a good student checking account service.

Are any of these banks any good? I went with compass and lost $500 because of their weak system. With all the talk of banks ripping people off I want to know what exactly are my options. I have credit union in my area but I have to be 21 to open a checking account with them. I am almost a junior in college right now and due to my schools over the top pricing on books I need a checking account so that I can buy my books online (saving at least $300)
Thanks for the help thus far. For those wondering I lost $500 due to compass inability to inform me like they said they would. They said they won't send me a letter saying if I overdrafted and then charge me. But instead the charged me then sent the message. I paid of the first overdraft which was around $175. They said I had nothing to worry about and that I'd paid them back. I ask was there ANYTHING else I'd need to know? No they replied. I put $350ish in my account and my balance was around $2. They told me they found more overdraft charges. I used my overdraft protection service to put some cash back into my account during the first incident but apparently a day later more charges came up they didn't tell me about. I called the company up they apologized for the misunderstanding gave me another overdraft service. I cancelled the account around Oct 2009 I got overdraft letters in Nov 2009. This is why I don't trust compass.

I'm pretty curious about this "I went with compass and lost $500 becuase of their weak system" part...what system? Was it an investment? Was it high interest rates? Was it service charges?

From that list, RBC is one of the largest and most stable companies in the world. They are the only one from your list that is on the Global 100 (the list of the 100 most sustainable companies in the world in any industry). I would say they would be a good place to start. It really depends on your definaition of good though...good service fees? good customer service? good advisors that know what they are doing?

I am a Scorpio and I come off online as clingy, needy, and desperate a lot of times. I always have to be in a relationship all the time in my life otherwise I become too mentally unstable.

There is a girl I repeatedly break up with who I really don't want to be with. I think I am using her. I will break up with her and try to get in a long-term relationship with a girl I really adore online when that fails. We meet in person don't connect or things go south after a few dates I will fly back to this other girl and she always takes me back. She will forgive me no matter what I do. I have broken up with her 4 times in the last 5 years and tried going on dates with other women during that time. When I have limited success and I don't get what I want I always go back to her. I am not sure if I love her but she gives me the emotional needs and sex I need whenever I want it. I need emotional security and I thrive on sex. I can emotionally manipulate her to get all the sex I want from her. I will threaten to leave her again, act cold and mean and be verbally abusive to her. I will do whatever it takes to get all the sex I want from her. Her father abused her as a kid and she has had past boyfriends who have beaten her up. She is easy to break down emotionally and I feel secure that she will never leave me. I can control her and I love that. I eliminated all possibilities for her to cheat on me with men. I manipulated her to sell her car, cut out all contact with any male in her life whatsoever, she gave me all her email account information, I have access to all her banking information and credit cards. She will give me access to anything I ask, she trusts people too easily. Whenever she doesn't do what I want her to do I will describe in graphic detail how I am going to watch a movie like "Hellraiser" and wish that she gets tortured to death like those women because that is what happens to trash. She is religious and I will use her faith as a weapon to control her. Telling her she will be thrown in the lake of fire and has no chance to go to heaven if she doesn't do what I want her to do. She also is a little bit "slow" and was just a C student in high school. I use her lack of intelligence to my advantage she is gullible and too easily manipulated. When we break up I can date and talk to who I want online but if she even asks me permission to even glance at another man I will throw a turbulent rage at her and call her every name in the book to give her a guilt trip so she even won't consider it. I completely control her life and I love it. I absolutely have to have emotional support and sex in my life all the time or I go nuts and can't function.I can't stand not being in a relationship I emotionally break down and go nuts. I have to always be in a relationship even if I am not satisfied with the one I am with.

The weird thing of all this is I think I really do love her. I love her family, her friends, a lot about her. As cruel and bitter hatred show her it is equal to a very deep love I have for her no matter how hard that is for me to admit. I do take really good care of her and put her on pedestal when things go my way. She told me she was going to commit suicide once when I left her and I called the police on her and they gave her treatment, deep down inside I do care for her.

So anyone always go back to a relationship with someone you know will take you back? If so what is your sign?
Oh life is too funny to take seriously. I love monyself and everything good about me. We all have to love the sick dark side of our personalities. Reading the posts and this kind of humor is what makes my day. It is more fun to be hated then loved in this world. Just too funny !!! Thanks everyone for the input I really cracked up reading all the posts.
Oh and I even promised to marry her and on her wedding day I did a "no show" at her house. The minister and witnesses were there and I ditched town. She was upset but still took me back.

yea i have... and u sound a lot like the guy i loved. i did cuz number1 i loved him more than any1 number 2 i wanted to be loved back but in return i didnt get it that way i got more pain than love. and 3 i dont wanna be alone well i like the feeling of havin some1 and bein able to tell em that, u want em, love em, miss em, etc... it truly sux. but i feel that at some point a person becomes powerless... it can take a long time for it to happen, but gradually it can. i came to a point where i have decided a few things if i didnt get to ever be loved back. but um in most cases no1 does go back, and if they do they prob really want that person.

I am an American ,I was recently in Egypt and I married an Egyptian man there on August 2nd. We met online and I came there and stayed for 3 weeks.He told me that he is from rich classy family and he will pay for my flight ticket and for everything when i come there and i found out he have nothing and he depended on me and my child money. We did an Islamic contract of marriage in the court in Alexandria and even though this man was a converted Christian (or so he said), he falsely put down on this contract he was a muslim and also put down he was never married before, he was married to agirl from south africa named Adila and he show me the marriage contract but never showed the divorce paper. He of course had good explanations to me at the time as to why he put these false statements down on that contract so this is part of what made me start opening my eyes to his lies after I returned back home here. I started questioning muslims here as I thought that was strange for him to lie like that and this is what started me even questioning this man’s intentions. Since returning here to the states, I realized this man fooled me and took advantage of me . This man has had illegal status throughout the European countries for many years and just returned to Egypt about 3 years ago. This man “indirectly” cheated me out of much money while I was there such as putting me in bad sitiuations where I had no choice but to get money from my bank account and
credit cards through the ATM. I also had to have money sent Western union by a friend otherwise I would not have had a place to sleep or eat there or even had money to get back to cairo for my flight. I have the bank records to prove all the money spent there. He paid a dentist there $100 from my money and he had me send him $200 westernunion after I reached home. He told his family that i was a
doctor to make me look good enough for them and he asked me not to tell that my ex-husband was arabic and not to even mention this marriage to them for some unknown reason. I spent over $5000 total on this trip and have receipts to provethis. I did have to give him $360 in cash to pay for a rental car which was a private rental car for 2 weeks. HE told me at that time that the car cost us like $700 for 2 weeks and that he had paid for one week already and he made me pay the
$360 for the second week. He said that he spent on me $1500 in one week and after searching the prices online and things that we did there i know that he didnt spend

half this money and I am the one who spent all the moeny hosting him in his

country. This man had a really bad nervous temper and would shout at me often

making me cry almost daily with this shouting. I never felt scared to the point he

could physically abuse me though but his temper was quiet frightening at times. I

couldnt count the egyption money and he use to pay from my money for everything.

When i asked him to give me my flight ticket money which he agreed to pay before i

even leave here which was $1500, he told me i cant give u the money unless ur

change ur family name to my family name and it was his way to push me to apply for

him here. He have multiple personalities and he would shout on me and make me cry

if his mood change. I have requested a divorce from this man many times and he is

very

angry about this and has went as far as to tell me he will not divorce me unless I

pay him money he says he spent on our stay there and also has sent me messages by

text and by online telling me he wants his money back that he paid to me for an

american visa which is not true and it was his way to scare me and to make me apply

for him. This is a major crime he is acusing me of and I need help to resolve this

before it turns into something very complicated. I feel I cannot trust anyone

there as many tried to cheat me when I was there, in cairo they attempted fraud on

me and tried to take my money. I need legal advise and help here from AMERICAN

GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS!!! Please help me here. I don’t want to cause a problem

within our government and get them involved and the media and such. Please help me

here with this mess. This man has a bad temper and put me in some frightening

situations there and shouted to me many

times. Please tell me what to do please. He has split personality and I do feel

this man would go as far as to accuse me of something very illegal just because I

did not continue with this fraudulent marriage and bring him to the states and give

him status here. I did leave a lot of my documents there with this man such as my

original birth certificate, income tax papers, social security number, bank

As a lawyer with over 25 years of experience I believe he can't heart you any more as any attempt to pursue a false claim against you is going to be very costly for him and from your story I do not think he is prepared to spend a dim. Ignore his stupid messages and I believe he will be satisfied with the time he spent with you on your expense. again I apologize for his attitude and you may consider the money you spent as few charges for the lesson you learned.

The company is in Britain. Below is all the information you need to know, it is an e-mail message from them. I may know a scam when I can smell it or detect it. I feel that as long as they don't ask for your bank account number, social security number or money to be wired to them to claim the prize money then I might be assured that it is not a scam. But then again I could be wrong they could send me a fake check . . . . hey you never . . . . I don't trust a check from them But if its money wired to me via western union, or moneygram by them the coca-cola company then that is fine.
