Call the bank and they will direct you to the on line department. They will walk you through the process--do not give anyone your pin number, including the people that work at the bank.

I have a new computer and cannot transfer data from my previous one. I have always done on-line banking with Bank One/Chase Bank. I need to set up my old information into the new computer.
IT not saved on your hard drive. The bank's server stores all your information. You should be able to log on to the banks online banking website and then be able to get into your banking account.

You need an existing account at the bank first (only exception I know of is with ING where you just need A bank account). Go to your local branch and ask to have internet banking setup. They will do it all there and give you a username and password (you should change the password the second you get home to something that is long but easy for you to remember).
Depending on what country you live, but usually you have to be between 16-18 before you can have online banking. If your over 18 it shouldn't be a problem.

Thank you for using QuickBooks. I am sorry you are running into this problem.
This error can be a couple of issues, it could be the account requires a special password that is provided by your bank or that the account you are trying to setup is not found (could be the account number was not right). It could also be that your bank requires a password change before being able to set up the account with QuickBooks.
You bank will be able to tell you if it requires a special password of a first time usage password change.
There are 2 different ways you can download transactions into QuickBooks. One is called Direct Connect this method requires the password changes or special password. It also requires that the account numbers are correct. The second method is called Web Connect, this method does not require all the special password handling. They way this one works is you log into you banks website and while logged into your account you select the download option.
