My computer is not allowing me to log into my online banking??? Security block?

"Access Denied by security policy
The security policy for your network prevents your request from being allowed at this time. Please contact your administrator if you feel this is incorrect."

Who is my "administrator"? I had no problem earlier logging on and it seems to be a problem with my computer and not the banking website. Can anyone help?
My window firewall is on. Nothing changes since earlier. What is my "network"? My internet provider?

if you are using internet explorer then goto tool, and then internet options. Your problems lies somwhere in the tab 'security' or 'privacy'. Just change all the settings to default and you should be alright

There are security flaws with many online banking websites. Learn what holes there may be in your banks security plan.

online banking security question?

i receive scam emails daily - usually to bulk folder and not addressed specifically to me from various banks advising me to sign it etc etc. i always ignore them however today i have received two emails to my in box from the two banks that i am actually with.

Is this just a coincidence? should i be concerned?.

To be honest it has put me off online banking. What should i do? Is it ok to log onto my accounts in the normal way i.e they are in my favourites on computer.

You're going about this the correct way by ignoring the e mails. For this reason you should not be concerned. A useful way of dealing with online banks is to open a special e mail account (lots of free ones with Yahoo, Google, etc), just for dealing with your bank.

Removing drivecleaner (trojan) / Online banking security?

How do I remove drivecleaner 2006 and know the tool I am using is completely safe, will work and won't wreck my PC? eg is spyware-remove.com genuine?

I have no current issues or anything odd happening but could drive cleaner compromise security of e.g online banking?

Use Ccleaner to remove Dcleaner, then run all your anti spyware and an anti virus in Safe Mode.
Only use software tested and recommended by;
Official Windows XP Magazine
Computer Active Magazine
WebUser MAgazine.

Before attempting to remove malware you must switch off System Restore as back up files will be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.
Run your anti virus and anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.

Then beef up your security. Its easier to prevent malware getting on to your sytem in the first place rather than trying to remove it. All the following programs are free for personal use;

You need to install one firewall.
The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out.
http://www.zonelabs.com Zone Alarm firewall OR
http://www.comodogroup.com/ - Comodo security suite.

You need to install one anti virus;
http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/ 2/ -AVG anti virus or
http://www.avast.com - Avast Antivirus

You need all three anti spyware programs;
http://www.ewido.net - AVG(Ewido) anti trojan.
http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware
http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.

And these are useful utilities;
http://www.mozilla.com/ - Firefox web browser.
http://www.ccleaner.com Cr*pcleaner Registry cleaner and privacy tool
Winpatrol is a handy utility that tracks cookies on your pc and stops unwanted changes to your startup folder.
http://www.winpatrol.com
Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com
http://www.siteadvisor.com -MacAffee Site Advisor warns about malware on sites you are about to visit.

http://spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spy ware.htm - The Spyware Warrior site identifies fake anti spyware programs.
https://www.grc.com - Shields Up security site, check your firewall works.

Remember to update and run all of you anti malware programs at least once a week.

How does the security device work, when i do online banking?

Am talkin abt the small black thing that generates numbers. Am surpirsed how the computer understands that this is the right number 2 loging as there is no connection between the computer and the security device, n also cos it generates different numbers all the time. Can someone throw some light. thanx
but am talkin abt an external device. It has no connection 2 the computer... does it have some bluetooth stuff inside? u mean its connected 2 my comp?

I think what you are getting at is that how the device that presents a number is coordinated with the banking account. There is no connection or wireless anything. It is a very simple device that generates random looking number. However, it is not really random at all if you know the formula and only the 'creator' knows the number. The device has a clock that changes to the next number at known time intervals. If you didn't type the number in fast enough, the website would deny access expecting the next number. It is possible to get out of sync and you would need to call into support to get sync'd again.
BTW, if someone did get guess your device number, they would still need your password and vice versa.

Security blocks prevent me from signing on to my online banking?

I keep getting a message stating the security has expired and it blocks me from getting onto banking

Happened to me before - I don't know who you bank with but you should just be able to call (customer service) and get it reset - they will ask you a series of questions for security purposes and will help you get back to your online banking.
