I've just made a PayPal account and to add a Canadian bank account (Scotia in this case) I need a bank statement. Currently I am out of Canada and I need to get a statement online because I can't see a teller. The website isn't very helpful and I've scoured google.. can anyone link me up or tell me how to get the statement?
I think this should help you - "Scotia Online Banking 411" - http://www.online-bank.ca/online-banking /2010/02/14/scotia-online-banking-411/
Has all the links, phone numbers, etc... that you need.
Basically you might need to call Scotia first to activate actual access to online banking if your bank card was not activated for it yet. Then you login into online banking and print out a statement.

More than likely there are psychological components to this assessment (honesty, etc...). While you can't prepare for this just remember to answer honestly and appropriately. They are looking for inconsistencies in your answers to assess your truthfulness.

I would like to know what store I have bought things at and how much I have spent on my debit card, I know you can do this online because I have done it before but I do not remember how could somebody please help me. Thanks.
P.S. It is with Scotia Bank.
Call the number on the back of your card and they will tell you. You need to sign up for onlinebanking with your bank.
Please DO NOT give me URLs or any kind of online sources. I need your personal knowledge and opinion. Please comment on anything such as its popularity, how long has it been known to you, how is their service, ease of access (i.e. availability of branches), their ScotiaMcLeod Immigrant Investor Program etc.
I bank with ScotiaBank and have been extremely happy with their service. We originally started banking there because they gave us an amazing rate on our first mortgage. Over the years, I have migrated many of our accounts there. On two occasions, something I ahve had a cmplaint about something and they have been extremely understanding. They solved my issue right away. There was none of the regular "Arguing with Bank Manager". They fixed it, apologized for the inconvenience, and followed up with me to let me know they have suggested policies so that the same problem doesn't occur again.
Their Banking Online feature is way better than the other banks I deal with. As for the branches, I think it would depend on where you will be living.
I'm sorry -- I do not have any experience with their Immigrant Investor program.
Scotiabank starts charging small businesses an online banking ...
It appears that Scotiabank started charging small businesses a new, not so small, fee of $25 a month for the customers of said businesses to be able to use the online banking bills payments feature in Scotia ’s online banking system.
Vancouver Sun reports that as far as in December 2009 small businesses started receiving notices from The Bank of Nova Scotia, stating that in order for their customers to continue using Scotia’s online banking bills payments feature to pay them, they (the businesses) would need to shell out $25 a month (or $15 if they’re already Scotia’s business clients).
