Online Banking Houston

I am 22 and just starting out my path of life, what is the best bank in the state of texas (houston) to bank with? I'm not sure about online banking. I would like to bank with a "normal" bank.

Don't mean to be a downer, but all banks will have problems. I've banked with several and over time, there is alwasy some quirk. The key is to pick a bank and stick with it - especially if you do online banking. Online banking is SUPER convenient, just make sure you still get your paper statements. I heard on the news yesterday that people are sending fake bill states via email to people to get personal information. The best way to protect yourself is to still get your paper statements, but it IS safe to pay online. I use Bank of America, and it is very easy and quick to pay my bills online, we even pay our mortgage online. Very nice! Anyways, best of luck with your banking search. (just remember, despite all their alluring promisings, they are all basically the same!)

We immigrated to US 6 months ago from Pakistan. My dad had an excellent job in Citibank (PK). Working with them for the past 12 years until he left his job to immigrate to US.

Now hes applying online for citibank and other banks too, but nobody seems to contact him. We are in Houston, TX.

btw he worked as an Assistant Manager, (cash management) when he left the job.

1. Why cant he get a job in any bank here. does his past experience count or not?

2. How is New York's Job market? Can he get a job if he moves there?

Jobs in the US are extremely competitive. Even if your dad worked for Citibank in Pakistan, a lot more factors (such as your residency status) can come into play other than just previous experience. After all, the home office probably is acquainted with only a few members of their regional offices.

They DO count, however. Other than applying online, knocking on doors, and resume mailings however, perhaps you could have him try employment agencies. They come at a price but it's like an application multiplier. Besides, some companies have regular agencies that they prefer to hire from since they could outsource a lot of their HR tasks. That, and persistence/patience should get you guys through.

There are obviously more jobs in the big cities like New York, but there are also a whole lot more applicants too! I wouldn't suggest moving there until you've actually been accepted there. Even an invterview could be taken without actually moving there. Not only are the jobs as hard to find if not harder, but the cost of living is astronomically higher also. I would agree as far as saying the jobs there probably have more promotability -- but starting out is an altogether different matter.

instead of the name of the man (owner) i've been in contact with it says that the property is owned by LASALLE BANK NA TRUSTEE of Chicago, IL. The house is in Houston. Is this anything I should be worried about?

yes. It's a scam where the old owner/or individual throws a tenant into a foreclosed home in order to collect the first month rent and security deposit. Since it is bank owned, it's vacant and they usually use combo locks where these scam artists get the codes from the MLS. If it's the old owner, he usually does this before the bank comes and changes the locks.

Nice job on pulling title! You usually see this crap on Craigslist.

We reside in Houston USA and would rather she attends a school near home. We don't want online programs. We prefer campus-based education. Thanks

It's going to be tough to get into a school for a master with a 2.8. Ask the admission office how this works and if she can be admitted on academic probation, also be prepared to pay extra fees for this. I recommend a state school, ask for professional studies or classes for working adults. Everyone has their own terminology. Also, many schools require a GRE test as a pre-req. Be prepared for that and fees for this as well.

I'd completely avoid AIU, UOP, schools such as this as they're not recognized as real degrees. Many companies no longer offer tuition rembursement for these schools as well. Also, make sure the school has regional accreditation. Good luck!
