My local bank (small town...2 locations...not a national chain) has an online banking feature. The homepage has a link that says "Online Banking"...click here....you know the drill. Sometimes for days at a time, I cannot access it.
Here's the weird part....It's not just the online banking....I cannot even access the bank's homepage, which should be visible to everyone!
Here's my connection details...Internet is through a wireless router with a Sprint EVDO wireless card. I cannot access the site using any computer in the house. We have tried re-setting the router, bypassing the router using the wireless card in my laptop...nothing.
I can access it at work, so it isn't the site. Now, it has been unavailable for 8 days.
I've contacted the bank, but their "online banking rep" is just a 20-yr-old girl who happens to know more about computers than anyone else in the bank. The last time this happened, it lasted 9 days, then 1 morning...BOOM...it loaded.
HELP!!!
Try lowering your security setting within IE. It may be set to high. In addition, online banking normally would attempt to install some sort of ACTIVE-X plugin. If you setting is too high then the plugin is not installed.

Check the other questions on this site and you will see what a scam it is. There are a lot of people that won also. Just how many million dollar winners can there be.This is a Nigeria scam. Yahoo/MSN, U.K. and Australian lotteries, football lotteries from the same counties, Global-Link, World Poverty, Microsoft, Free Lotto, which now seems to have it's own people answering gambling questions on this site claiming they have won which is a total lie, and hundreds more. I am a retired Police Officer that has years of experience investigating Internet scams and frauds. This is an old one. The common link to them getting your email is on line surveys. Yahoo does not give it's stock holders money away nor does it give it's email subscribers address's to lotteries. The only way to win in a lottery is to buy a ticket, if you didn't you could not possibly win. Here is the website of the 17 nation law enforcement task force that investigates cross border Internet crime. You may file a complaint there. www.econsumer.gov. Also go to www.ripoffreport.com and browse complaints and you will find many having the same doubts as yourself about these scams. Below is a typical scam and how they work it. They just go under a thousand different names. They are asking you to send a prepayment to collect your winnings and they want you to send it by a money wire service. Lotteries do not just pick your name out of thin air, and just so happen to have your email also. No Internet service provider gives their email list out to lotteries. If you did not pay to play you could not possibly win.

Please send HELP... THANK YOU VERY MUCH
I have no I.D because when my Mother remarried she changed my last name to her husband's last name, but it wasn't done legal, but I didn't know. As I grew up, I had all my records in the "new name", e.g National Insurance Number, qualifications. I couldn't get a Passport or Driver's License in my new name because it was a different name to the one on my Birth Certificate. I couldn't get one in my "old name" bacause my Birth Certificate was the only I.D I had for my old name.
How did I solve it? I paid for a Deedpoll (you can get it done online) and that solved the problem BUT I didn't get round to getting a Passport or Driver's License.
Today's problem= I have a cheque to cash for over £400, but my bank closed my account without telling me why. So I want to cash it at Moneyshop or Cash Converters or somewhere similar. BUT I don't have photo I.D or signature I.D. All have is:
my Birth Certificate and Deed Poll
Official letters for proof of address
my old bank card
My Mother already has an account with one of the moneyshop thingys and is wondering is this would help me?
Inland Revenue said I could cancel the cheque and get a new one sent with my Mother's or partner's bank account details on it. But they took nearly 2 months to send this cheque. I want my money now! Please help!
If it is of any help, a HMRC replacement cheque takes about three weeks.
You don't say which name cheque is made out in. These cheques are crossed, so can only be paid through your bank account. I think you have three options, either get a replacement cheque in correct name, sort out with bank why they closed your account, or ask Revenue to send you a Giro cheque that you can cash at a Post Office instead of a crossed cheque. The latter may be put through a bit quicker.
Old National Bancorp : Press Releases: 2010-02-09 14:33:00
Date of Release: 2010-02-09
Old National Bancorp DBRS Comments on Old National’s Q4 Results – Senior at BBB (high) Unaffected, Trend Remains StableDBRS has today commented on the Q4 2009 results of Old National Bancorp (Old National or the Company). Old National’s ratings, including its Issuer & Senior Debt rating of BBB (high) are unaffected by the Company’s Q4 2009 results. The trend on all ratings remains Stable. In light of the challenging economic environment, Old National reported its first quarterly loss since the recession began. During Q4 2009, the Company reported a net loss attributable to common shareholders of $9.3 million, down from net income of $4.0 for the prior quarter and net income of $6.3 million for Q4 2008. During the quarter, earnings reflected multiple non-recurrent gains and losses, including $6.3 million in gains related to securities sales, a $9.5 million other than temporary impairment (OTTI) charge, a $3.5 million loss on the extinguishment of debt, and $1.8 million in severance cost. On a linked-quarter basis, including one-time gains and losses, Q4 2009 results reflected a 79% increase in provisions for loan loss reserves, an 8% increase in noninterest expenses, a 4% decrease in net interest income and a 6% decrease in noninterest income. The higher provision for loan loss reserves reflected a $12 million loss related to a shared national credit (SNC). The increase in noninterest expenses was driven by a debt extinguishment charge and severance cost. Lower net interest income reflected a 20 basis point (bps) narrowing of net interest margin (NIM) to 3.33%, partially offset by a 1.4% increase in average earning assets. The Company’s NIM narrowed, due to lower asset yields, as average loans contracted and average securities expanded. Despite the macroeconomic challenges, Old National’s asset quality remains relatively sound. Although the Company reported a sizeable increase in net charge-offs (NCOs) during the quarter, due to a large SNC, DBRS anticipates that future levels of NCOs will be far less volatile, given the good quality of the remaining SNC portfolio and granularity of current nonaccruals. Specifically, Old National’s NCOs expanded to 2.17% of average loans during Q4 2009, from 1.17% for Q3 2009. Meanwhile, non-performing assets (NPAs) remain manageable, yet inched up to 2.01% of total loans at December 31, 2009, from 1.96% at September 30, 2009. DBRS comments that the Company’s allowance for loan loss reserves to NPAs was acceptable at 88%. DBRS anticipates that economic pressures will continue to challenge Old National’s credit quality over the intermediate term. The Company’s sound liquidity position is underpinned by a robust core deposit base that accounts for 125% (at September 30, 2009) of net loans, a securities portfolio, which represents 37% of total assets, and access to the Federal Home Loan Bank and the Federal Reserve Discount Window. The bulk of the Company’s securities portfolio is relatively low risk agency issued or guaranteed securities; however Old National does have some riskier securities, including $216.2 million (book value) of non-agency mortgage backed securities, with a market value of $174.6 million, and $40.4 million (book value) in trust preferred securities, with a market value of $21.3 million. DBRS notes that during Q4 2009, Old National recognized a $9.5 million OTTI charge within its non-agency collateralized mortgage obligations and trust preferred securities portfolios. DBRS notes that there is the potential for future OTTI related charges, which could pressure the Company’s earnings. Moreover, ONB’s securities portfolio does contain extension risk, especially given its size. Old National’s ample capital position was bolstered during Q3 2009, with roughly $196 million in proceeds from a common stock issuance. At December 31, 2009, the Company’s tangible common equity, Tier 1 and Total risk based capital ratios were 8.25%, 14.2% and 16.0%, respectively. On March 31, 2009, Old National repurchased all of the $100 million in preferred stock that it sold to the Treasury.
