Do Raboplus digipasses work overseas?
ANZ - Protect your banking - Security Software?

This is for NZ Raboplus accounts and internet banking.

I do not have this bank, but my brother does and his digipass worked wherever he tried it, (he did not go overseas though.)
But the site I found it to see what you where asking about was Rabobank Australia, they also offered the digipass, so I am sure it will work in most of the world.

I have never used the system so I do not know what kind of technical things are involved.

Added:
Rabobank is an Dutch bank, the digipass is used by the Dutch customers too. (I just now noticed the NZ in your question.)

Added-2:
I asked info for you, you get an pin code, which you enter into the 'pass, you get an code from your internet bank which you also enter into the 'pass and in return your 'pass will give you a new code which you need to enter into the computer.
For your account it does not matter where in the world you are, as long as you have your 'pass with you.

Moving back to NZ - A few questions?

Hi everyone,
After living in Australia and briefly in Canada for the past few years I have decided to move back to NZ to try and get back on my feet. I lived in Wellington most of my life and have decided to go back there. Just a few things I wanted to enquire and ask others opinions.

What health insurance would be recommened? I know that its a very broad question but mainly looking about which health funds are better or with better rates?

Bank account? Being I am close to 25 I see Bank of NZ has some good deals one that has no fees. My past feelings of Bank of NZ was not great customer service. But I am not sure if things have changed in the past few years. Any suggestions?

Rooms for rent? Can someone suggest where is the best places to look for renting a room? Internet, newspaper etc? Also what are the rates around for doing so?

Finally any other advice about NZ to help my move would be great.

Thanks

There is really only one health insurance scheme and that is Southern Cross. There used to be others but one by one Southern Cross has bought them out. Most NZers don't have insurance in this field as the Social Security system covers most things, but you have to be prepared to go on looooooong waiting lists for some procedures.

I have been with BNZ for many years, but I think at your age you'd get a better deal from Taranaki Savings Bank or KiwiBank (both are available right through the country).
Rooms for rent - -you may be able to do this by Googling, but I would suggest local newspapers, most of which are available online. Short term stays can be arranged through the YM or YWCAs or through the Youth hostel Association.
I've no idea of prices in this respect.
Also perhaps try the cabins at motor camps and holiday parks, they usually allow up to 6 weeks stay, although some allow much longer tenancies.
have fun back here,

What type of credit card should I get? (eftpos & credit card combined)?

I am turning 15 and i want a credit card to buy stuff from internet and at the same time an eftpos card combined with it so i can buy day today stuff.

So baically I need a credit card that can buy things online and also use it as an eftpos card as well. I live in New Zealand and I want the cheapest card that can do what i need it to do.

So far i have found these,

Kiwibank

National Bank
http://www.nationalbank.co.nz/personal/p roduct/cards/creditcards.aspx

which one is the best for me?
Please help!, THANKS!
Just found out the card i am looking for is a "debit card" which means its not a credit card but an eftpos card but also a credit card at once. So i can go shopping online and also pay for stuff by eftpos straight from my bank account.

Now a days credit card is very essential one for every one. We like to keep a card to our wallet and spend money from it when ever needed. In case of emergency credit cards is very important and can lift us from our problems. But if we are stuck with poor credit getting credit card is very much challenging. But there is a good news. There are online banks and lenders who are ready to give instant credit card even to people with bad credit.

  • New Zealand's Banking Sector Faces Losses | TopNews New Zealand

According to a KPMG annual banking survey, New Zealand's bank sector registered a fall in net profit by 90% last year.

It has been stated that the Financial Institutions Performance Survey, which was made public today, has shown that the combined net profit of the country's 19 registered banks was at $299 million in December 2009. This has fallen from $3.07 billion, which was seen a year earlier.

Culling out anomalous items and tax, the underlying profit for the sector was seen to be $3.2 million; this is lesser than $4.4 billion in 2008.

It has been reported that the 244% rise in loan losses to $2.3 billion has been degrading asset quality. This has also been augmented by the economic downturn. Fallen property prices and shaken business confidence has also led to these losses.
