Information Online Banking Services

one of the basic service that I want to use is the ability to check my balance etc. I know that there are malicious people out there who can do very terrible things with any information that I send out to the internet, and I don't feel comfortable with the thought of someone sucking out the money from my account.

any precautions that I need to know before I use this service? any particular brand of antivirus or spyware software that you recommend, or any other security software or tips that might help? thanks in advance

I've been using it for almost 6 years and never had a problem.. The banks use the best security because they don't want any problems.. If you are using a public computor you must empty the cache and history so no one can use your info.. if it is a personal computor just make sure you empty your history too.. They advise you to change your password often just in case.. and if there is ever a problem you get to see if firsthand with your online banking and can catch it quicker and report.. the bank always gives tips on how to stay safe once you have signed up..

data encreption.they perform some specific instructions on the data which is send to the bank servers.like multiplying it with a 128 bit long nos.(128 bit encrepytion).this scrambles up the data and makes it hard for the hackers to understand it.once the data reaches the bank the reverse of the same steps which took place on your computer are performed by the banks computers.like dividing the data with the same nos. to recreate the original data.this is a very simple example and the algorthims employed are much more complex.

someone claimed that he sent 2100 euros to my account by using online banking service.The police called me and i came to know that all detail about my account was correct except my name.even by surname was correct.he mentioned that he sent me in November 2009.I print my bank statement and gave to police.They was no information about 2100 euros.The police man told me that now you are ok and left me to go home.Kindly can any body help me that such things are possible possible as i even don't know that person?
Do you suggest that I report /claim against him as nothing proved?
or what kind of actions I can take against him ?or can i report to police against him to protect myself in future?
