It caused me lot of inconvenience and a bit of money. I believe as commonwealth claims they are number one online bank in Australia ,these outage must have cost billions to Australians. How should we claim for our losses and How can we trust any online bank.

I'm 17...all I have is a Commonwealth bank savings card (I'm from Australia)...my parents wont let me use their credit card or whatever to buy something online...someone told me you can use your savings bank card....is that true? what do i do?
I am not able to use my savings bank card for anything other than withdrawals from an ATM. If it has a mastercard or visa logo on it then you would be able to. This is common for checking cards, I haven't heard of savings cards having this feature though. I agree with your best bet being paypal. You have to link your savings account to your paypal account and then you when you purchase items from online sources that accept paypal, the money will automatically be withdrawn from your savings account with no additional charges.
I want to be able to buy things online, but I don't want a credit card.
I know Bankwest has a debit card but I'm with Commonwealth Bank and don't wnt to change over. Can I just get a debit card with Bankwest and put money on it as I see fit? Will it be expensive?
I'm in Australia.
Cheers!
