Bbt Bank Online

Answers

Has anyone ever get a job at a bank from applying online?

I am planning to work at a bank and i will fill applications online for all the following banks

bbt
Chuvy Chase
Commerce
Provident
Suntrust

i was wondering, is applying online for these banks on their websites a good idea?....do they ever give you a call for interview?

Yes, I got a job at a bank by applying online. But it was by answering an ad that they put on craigslist. And if the websites you're going to have a link to apply with them, then I'm sure they do look over the online apps. Why have the link on their website if they're not going to look at the apps, right? Go for it!

Can somebody tell me HOW... how does a bank let you withdraw 60 bucks -- notice the withdraw of sixty bucks sandwiched between 3 overdraft charges ...

having a hard time understanding avalable balance VS current balance..?

i have a bbt checking account, with online banking.. My current balaance is higher than the avalable balance.. There are many transactions that haven't showed up on the actual statement.. So is that why the available balance is smaller? B/c the purchases have already been deducted, just not shown yet??
if the checks are waiting to be cleared, does the bank hold a dollar, or the full amount

Available balance doesn't include "pending" transactions.

Your actual balance would include the check you just deposited that has a 7 day hold. The available balance would not include that check.

Why would my bank acount have $100 more than I thought?

I posted a small of $169 earlier this week. I checked my account via telephone (BBT Phone 24 or some service like that) and it listed my balance that way - $169. Today, my mom went by the bank and deposited my last paycheck, $511, into my account at 8am or so. By the afternoon, the account is listed at $269. The $511 check isn't supposed to be posted until sometime after midnight or early in the am. When I go to my online account, it says my current balance is $169 while my available balance is $269. Then there is a link that says "view pending transactions" and when I click there it says "Date: 7/23/2009", "Transaction Type: Credit", "Description: Other credits", "Credit: $100".

There is a small question mark by the "Description: Other" mark and when I drag over it it says "Some Pending Transaction amounts are only available in summary form. This summary amount can include one or more transactions. The total of these transaction types is shown as one entry in the transaction table.
I'm not complaining, but why would this be? I know my paycheck hasn't posted yet, but why would this happen? I'm not going to go spending it because it may be an error. But what do you think?

Some one made an error. Hope that the $100 is yours to keep.

Help! I think I'm check kiting!?

ok, I'm ridiculously stressed out. I need advice bad! I know I messed up so please don't yell at me! I'm only 21 and about to graduate college. I have two bank accounts. One with a Credit Union and another with BB&T. Thinking I had about 6,000 in my Credit Union account that I haven't used in about 5 months, I wrote a check from my credit union account to my bbt account for 1,000. I then used the 1000 on rent, bills, etc. A couple of days later, I also deposited a 500 check and then a 1000 into the same bank account from the credit union account. I used some of it and left the rest in. The next day I went to look at my account online and it was in the negative 1700!! I figured the next 1,000 hadn't gone through yet so I wrote a check from the bbt account to the credit union account to cover it. Now one bank account is negative 1700 and the other is negative 1200. I started googling and it looks like I was check kiting! I need help bad! What can I do. This is illegal and I'm broke!

First of all, talk to the credit union and explain what has happened. if you are overdrawn, sometimes if they know what is going on, they will give you so many days to show new activity before they close the account. Then, I would earn the extra income needed to clean up both accounts. You don't say what your major is, but if you're going through college, you certainly don't want to lose your first career option because of a negative credit record. Talk to them to see if you can either take out a small loan just for the purpose of cleaning this up. And if you get the money, USE IT FOR THAT PURPOSE!

After you get the accounts cleaned up, use a debit card and hide your checkbook. With a debit card, if the money isn't there you can't spend it.

Third, I would HIGHLY recommend that you look into "financial peace university" which is a program on consumer finance that has been developed by Dave Ramsey, nationally known speaker and financial planning consultant. His advice is Bible based, but he doesn't "preach", if that makes any sense. He really does concentrate on setting your stuff inorder so that you can get ahead. Good Luck
