...if i pay for something on amazon or ebay, why isnt that reflected on my balance immediately or at the very least..by the next day?
is it just that nat west credit card banking is crap...or does your online bank info also have an unreasonable time lag, between you purchasing something..and that info being reflected in your current on-line banking balance?
It won't appear on your account until Amazon (or eBay or any other retailer) submit their claim for cash to your bank. That can take up to 4 days and is dependant on the retailer, not your bank.
I use NatWest on line banking and I think it's great!
Advert For Nat West Bank
My husband used his Nat West online banking to pay his barclaycard credit card. He submitted the payment twice by mistake as the website was playing up. His online banking shows 2 payments going out. However his barclay is only showing as receiveing one of the payments. He's been on the phone between the 2 all morning with both banks blaming each other.
What's the best way to resolve this?
Send a written notice to NatWest explainingthe samething. Inform them that you will efer the issue toyour Lawyers if suitable corrective action is taken forthwith. In suchmatters you should mainain written record for future action in a court of Law. Take the help ofa Lawyer friend.
I run a small retail shop and bank online but I have to have an account with a high street bank (Nat West) to obtain change for the till. They charge a percentage for all the change we buy and also there is a monthly "Account Maintainance Fee". At the end of the year these charges mount up to quite a lot.
Is there anywhere I could get change without payng so much?

you can change your bank account to Alliance & Leicester and get free banking for two years and you can withdraw £2000 per month cash (no fees) that should be enough change for you
Using the online facility of their websites ,to contact banks ,is certainly not always reliable.

ive been doing my online banking with nat west a high street bank for a while now and have always noticed that it says that i can open a stocks and shares builder account is it possible to invest small amounts like £10 and under with listed companys like tesco and bp and also bt.. and if i was to do so is it possible i could make a little from doing it as i dont have a clue about it but would like to try and make a little cash elsewhere aswell as my full time job
please help because im clueless at investment
You can do it cheaper at Halifax through their SHAREBUILDER scheme (£1.50 to buy shares, £5 to sell.... and it also allows you to buy in fractions of shares you can't quite afford instead of whole ones) http://www.halifax.co.uk/sharedealing/sh arebuilder.shtml
It also means that you only really need to invest £20 - £120(ish) on shares to get enough shares to break even quickly + be able to sell them again without the commission fee cancelling out any profit, instead of around £500 - £1000 like you would with services charging £10 commission.
