Banking Cibc Online Visa

Alright well I probably should have asked before transferring funds, but it was only $40 so meh.

But okay, I have CIBC online banking and just got a Visa card a few weeks ago. I wanted to pay it off ASAP, it was only $40, so I figured I would do it online.

I set up Visa as a Payee and triple-checked that I had entered the correct account number, then transferred $40.00 to "Visa, CIBC".

It instantly took the $40 out of my account balance, but my debt owing on my Visa is still $40.

I know that these transfers take time, especially after hours, but did I do it correctly or did I throw $40 into the dark? Will they receive this transfer attached to my Visa account number and correct it later?

I could always go to the bank after and they would reverse it, but I hate transferring money and not knowing where it went.
Oh and it was only a few minutes ago, so should I know by morning?

This could take 24 hours to post on the credit card. If you don't see by that time call your bank and see where it was sent to.

How do i transfer money from my visa into my cibc account online?
Id rather not have to walk all the way to the bank this morning, its damn cold up in here in canada today :P

Call the credit card company and have them wire it to your bank. This is going to cost you plenty

Before completing my 10€ purchase, I'm asked to enter some credit card information. I am told "Verified by Visa from CIBC helps protect your credit card when used online - at no cost (More details).
Sign up now and create your own personal password for future purchases," and shown a Verified By Visa and a CIBC logo.

It looks legit, but I am extremely wary of giving out my credit info for obvious reasons, and the fact that the domail name is not CIBC's main banking site sent of initial warning alarms. It seems weird that Skype would be linking me to a phishing page, but hey, no one expects them from anywhere. Can anyone confirm whether or not the site is legit?

I think you should go on skype.com and explore the website for more options on buying credit. Also you answered one of my questions about the youth exchange so can you please email me because your the only person I know who has fufilled my questions and I would like to know so much more

I am a 16 year old high school student residing in Canada. I would like to be able to buy things on the internet where credit cards are required, however at my bank, CIBC, you must be the age of majority (19) to be able to apply for a student visa card. Is there any other way I can buy things online? And money order in not an option, I am talking about being able to enter a number and have the funds deducted from an account. Thanks for the help!

Have you considered getting a check card at your bank? They can be used as a credit card to make purchases online as long as they have a Visa, MAstercard or any other major credit card logo. Again it is not a credit card but a check card or debit card where the money comes straight from your checking account.
