Bank West Online Banking

Okay, so, I was recently infected by a trojan named Trojan Generic 13. About 2 days after I thought I had gotten rid of it, AVG came up saying that it detected 2 Trojan Horse Crypts (dot something). One of them couldn't be deleted.


I became a little worried that my mom's online banking account info at Bank of the West would be stolen since she checks her account every day or so, so I downloaded MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, SUPERantispyware, and AviraAntiVirus. I ran all three separately in safe mode.


All three of them only came up without about 1 threat detected. Will my mother's online banking account still be safe?

If you where using AVG free it has no rookit protection. Rootkit are very nasty. So I recommend you get another program. I like Norton Internet Security which has the smart firewall. Which would block a trojan from connecting to the web with your information. You could check the logs and see if any fishy was going on. If you want to go the free route then get Avira and add the Comodo firewall. Make sure you use it with the defense + feature turn on. You will get prompts if anything is trying to connect to the internet. You did everything right after you got infected. Three very good programs and you ran them in safe mode. Your mother is doing the right thing in checking her account. If you really want to know how to protect your computer here a good article on preventing infection. This is a much better way protecting your computer. The trick is not to let malware get on your computer.

I have an online FNBO direct saving account. I need to transfer the fund to a local bank (I can transfer to Citi Bank, Bank of the west or Bank of America).

I need this money by next Tue, Nov 20, Normal online transfer wouldn't make it on time. Can you someone suggest a way?

If I go to my local bank, ans ask them to do an ACH transfer, will it work?

i have an account with Westpac and i just recently got into online banking =) i would like to know step by step how i transfer money from this account i have with westpac into another account i have with another bank (Bank west) ... i thought it would be simple but i am finding it quite hard :(

first find out if both banks will allow it == some do and some don't if they do -- set down with someone from the westpac and let them walk you through the transfer!!!

My husband used his Nat West online banking to pay his barclaycard credit card. He submitted the payment twice by mistake as the website was playing up. His online banking shows 2 payments going out. However his barclay is only showing as receiveing one of the payments. He's been on the phone between the 2 all morning with both banks blaming each other.

What's the best way to resolve this?

Send a written notice to NatWest explainingthe samething. Inform them that you will efer the issue toyour Lawyers if suitable corrective action is taken forthwith. In suchmatters you should mainain written record for future action in a court of Law. Take the help ofa Lawyer friend.
