Bank Sa Internet

Bank accounts?

Hi guys

Any chance you can help me with answering this question:

I need a bank account to use on the internet. Something that is not coupled to my SA bank account, but that I can use to pay money in my South African account if I so wish.

Any ideas? I would have said PayPal, but believe that is not used in SA?

Help me look clever, please? ;-)

I'm not clued up on this sort off thing ,but can't you link your service somehow with e-bay. Also try HSBC, they might be able to give you advice.

How do I report Internet Fraud?

Someone contacted me about their late father that has passed away and left them money. They want me to be the next of kin, and share the left over family valuables (including millions of dollars). This person claims to reside in Africa, and needs help coming to America to start investing. They are very very convincing. I've talked with them over the internet, e-mail, and they offered to call and talk but I told them my number was private. I went as far as I could until they ask for personal information. I'm at the point now where I claim the valuables from the bank. The bank (the scammer most likely) is asking for some personal information. With a little research of the bank, I came up with this http://translate.google.com/translate?hl =en&sl=fr&u=http://news.abidjan. net/article/%3Fn%3D215528&sa=X&o i=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&a mp;prev=/search%3Fq%3DTEL%2B:%2B22505035 421%26hl%3Den%26hs%3D3Am%26lr%3D%26clien t%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US: official
The site mentions the very SAME name of the person who is talking to me and offering the same exact information. So obviously my suspicions were true. So Apparantly this person has been doing it for awhile, so I want to make sure that they are dealt with properly before getting spooked. Anyone know what I can do?

The answer to your question is ''The Internet Crime Complaint Center" or IC3. It is a partnership between FBI and NW3C.

I have been BAD :-(...please advise?

Heres my predictment - I left SA two years ago...was in an isolated part of Asia with not much internet or banking facilities. This meant that my credit cards here was left "abandoned". I made no payments towards it.

I returned and contacted the banks etc...and still trying to sort it all out.

I am planning on leaving again in two months (this time without any debt hopefully)...but the thing is.

I need a Police Clearance before I leave. I haven't commited any sort of crime...but will my terrible credit history reflect my "criminal status".?? I am so scared. Going away again, is a great opportunity. I would hate for anything to happen.

I am ASSUMING that a credit and criminal clearance are two different things. But I am panicking. What if I have a record on it. I mean I was away for TWO full years and the banks sent dozens of warning letters to my SA address. and obviously got no response from me up until now. (I have not heard back from them yet) Just got an automated response.

Oh, would someone please give me factual information. Thank you.

This incident will only affect your police clearance if the bank filed charges - and they need to notify you if they're going to do that. Unless they can't get hold of you. Check the letters they sent; if they don't mention filing charges or further action, you're in the clear. Good luck!

Is there a way for my marriage to work?

Here's the issues, both sides. This might be long, I'll try to trim it down.

I don't have a job. I'm disabled, I'm a full-time college student. I'll admit, I'm not a fantastic housewife--cooking is great, I do it every day, but cleaning isn't my specialty and I don't always have the energy, since I have fibromyalgia. I've been applying to every job I can reach at, but the fact is that I'm in an area with no connections, and there aren't all that many jobs open here. I got laid off the only job I've held since this past March because of downsizing. I do what I can, and I can't think of anything else besides asking the government for help.

My husband is in the military, that income will be coming in at the end of the month, as he just got off a 3-month hiatus (he just got back from Iraq). He's also a full-time student, and works part-time at a movie theater. No, he can't get me a job there.

The payments have become too much. We're in debt with the bank. We have some medical bills to pay, and our monthly costs (apartment, phone, etc.). We've had to sell pretty much every DVD and video game we own to get money (this isn't a tragedy, we have tons of movies and games on a hard drive he bought and a bunch that he kept). We've had to borrow money, which we both hate, and it's really stressful. We're fighting to make it. But we've cut costs (internet is needed, it's how I apply for most jobs) and we're trying to manage.

Like I said, stressful. But he's telling me that if I don't have a "real" job by October that he'll kick me out (onto the street, basically. I have nowhere to go, my family being over 100 miles away). I got offered a job last week, but considering the company has rumors of being a scam and his family thinks it's a bad idea, he insisted I turn it down. He said some pretty awful things about me when I wanted to take the job, as well. So I turned it down, even though it might have paid pretty well and it was something that I would've been great at (I'd be an in-home telemarketer, basically--go visit people and sell them sh*t). Now he's demanding I get a job and get it fast.

That's the most of our problems. But we do have others. Ever since he got back from his tour in Iraq, he's been having trouble with his temper. He hasn't hit me, but he's gotten awfully close, and he often screams, moves threateningly (y'know--hand in the air, etc.), and gets worse if I get upset and cry. Since this is all new, I figure it's him not adjusting well back to normal life--I want him to get help, which is free through the military--but he refuses, under the certainty that "shrinks are useless."

Also, I recently stopped treatment for my fibro due to lacking insurance, so I couldn't afford the Rx's. I've become depressed, and I've been really unhappy--this makes him angrier, since he sees me as a crybaby and a burden.

Is there any way to salvage this marriage, or should we just part ways? I love him more than I can say, and I want desperately to make this work, but I'm just not sure if I can handle it much longer. I can't ask family--they'll just judge and influence me, because I know I'll be liable to believe them, and want to believe them, no matter what they sa. So I'm asking strangers...is there anything I can do to make this work when talking hasn't done the job?
He's not active duty. He's reservist, so the TriCare covers JUST him.
I can sit in a classroom because I'm sitting and the college has help for disabled students. Jacka**.
Okay, must clarify, since it wasn't clear enough up there. I HAVE BEEN APPLYING TO JOBS. I'm not sitting around doing nothing. I must've applied to every job in the area. They just aren't hiring. So when you say "go get a job," I am attempting to do just that.

Maybe you can move back with your family for a little while. Get a job around home, get your feet on the ground and when things are settled a little bit and you can get back on your meds, than maybe you will be able to think straighter.
There's a lot going on with your marriage. Too much to be able to make a clear decision about anything, especially if he is so angry and having issues from being in Iraq.
I think your best option at this point is go and stay with your family for now. Families are great for taking you back no matter what kind of issues you are having. That is what families are for, to love you unconditionally. They will be there for you, you can then start helping yourself, and take things from there.

Good luck with everything. It sounds tough for you, but you can do this. It may all seem hopeless right now, but this too shall pass and you will be stronger in the end because of it.

Is there really a Baroque style smotherbox?

Wikipedia says that there are two types of smotherbox: Traditional and Baroque style --
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smotherbox< br />
In fact, Wikipedia says "Many custom smotherboxes are done in baroque style and may look very dignified."

But if you search the Internet for any mention of a Baroque style smotherbox, taking away the possibility that the source is Wikipedia or using the telltale phrase "look very dignified", there seems to be only ONE SOURCE that mentions "Baroque" and "smotherbox":

http://www.google.com/search?q=%22baroqu e+style%22+smotherbox+-wikipedia+-%22loo k+very+dignified%22&hl=en&safe=o ff&rlz=1B3GGGL_enUS351US351&filt er=0

...and there are a lot of people on that "What Herb got his girlfriend for Valentine's Day" forum who are simply laughing out load about the "Baroque style".

There don't appear to be any books that mention "Baroque" and "smotherbox":

http://books.google.com/books?um=1&q =%22baroque%22+smotherbox&btnG=Searc h+Books

There are likewise no scholarly papers making mention of this phenomenon:

http://scholar.google.com/scholar?um=1&a mp;q=%22baroque%22%20smotherbox&sa=N &hl=en&tab=ps

Thus, I am drawn to conclude that Wikipedia is simply a big joke. There is no such thing as a "Baroque style smotherbox", and yet the Wikimedia Foundation is laughing all the way to the bank with its $12+ million haul from this year's fundraising and grants from Google and Omidyar Network and others.

I dunno... I'd almost tend to side with Wikipedia on this one. It's important that your smotherbox fit in nicely with your home decor, or else people who are coming to visit for formal dinner parties or church functions might ask you what it's used for. Besides, I heard the latest smotherbox models actually use adaptive nanocomposite technology to produce a "chameleon"-like effect, making them practically invisible when, say, your grandmother drops by for a surprise visit.

The link below has a nice photo of one of the new smotherboxes - they call it a "reactive unbalanced magnetron sputtering machine," but of course we all know what it really is.

Here?s the scenario: your favorite nephew, Herbie, and his new bride have found their dream starter home.

So Herbie appeals to you, his dear aunt Agnes, for a short-term loan.
