I Emailed them back and asked what winnings? They told I had won
a lottery that was done through Email address and I needed to make arrangements to claim my funds. They also stated to me that
there was no cost on my part, that all I had to do was fill out the forms
to open up an internet bank account so that once they have received
the forms they require, then they will ask for the clearence of the funds
and transfer them into my internet account. They sent me the forms through Email attachments, and I went ahead and filled them out, and instead of emailing them back signed and with informations, I emailed
the Bank manager whose name is JAMES CRAWFORD and told him
I would fax the forms to him. I went down to fax the forms only to be told that they won't go through that they needed the international code.
So I came back home and did some research on my own through the
International Fraudwatch/Alert and found nothing. So I went ahead
and googled the address of the Bank and up came EMAIL SCAM.
I went ahead and Emailed Mr. Crawford back and explained my situation and also found that the ADDRESS WAS A SCAM, and the
I was going to report him. I received an Email back today, telling me
that they had used the Banks address to impersonate it, but guaranteed me that this was no scam and gave me another number
to fax my papers. So I went back online and enter the address again
and found a webpage with 40,000 plus address' for the Royal Bank Of
Scotland in and around the London area.. I also looked up the phone
number and it is valiad. So my question is should I pursue this and
send them the forms? I already reported the Email to the International
Fraudwatch. The forms just asked for my signature to open up the account and my address. I hope some one can shed some light on
this forme. Out of all the Emails I receive about Lotteries and having Won, One is bound to be real don't you think?

and received a confirmation a couple of days later saying account was opened and i got my sort code and account number, then this morning i received a letter from ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND with my internet banking details on but i was worried because i hadn't received a card or pin so i called them.......after 35 mins on the phone i was first told that there were no details of the account then told that the account had been closed...they couldn't give me a reason and they never called or sent a letter to say it was closed...anyone had a similar problem?
is this wrong and what can be done about it?
ive spoke to them and they are no use,
Go into your local branch with your letter and all the details you have, person to person is easier than a phone call. Good luck these sort of things can be a nightmare to resolve.
I live in the Scotland, so please no north American cards that aren't available here.
I'm 16 and have a part time job which pays direct to my bank account. I think it is just a cash line card, it does not allow for e-commerce.
I would like a card/account that would allow me to buy over the internet, is there any card/account that is available to me that suits my needs?
Cheers
im 15 and i have a HSBC card account that allows me to purchase things online, i had to set up paypal linked to account though.
I opened a bank account with Royal Bank around 6 months ago, and due to only having around £20 a week going through my account and not working, they could only offer me the most basic account, this having no chip and pin facility, no 3 digit on the card strip so no using over the internet etc which as you can imagine is annoying. Thing is now, I've now got almost £200 a week going through my account, do you think in asking them to upgrade my account to something with a chip and pin card etc, they would do this? Anyone had any simillar experience? Thanks in advance. xxx
Hi, i have the same account 2 but i asked for the most basic cos i was lethal with chip and pin but they said they review your account after 6 months and will upgrade you if all is well, just give them a call or pop in am sure they will give you a chip and pin so long as you haven't been overdrawn or anyhting like that.
