( It’s ok Mental Health will tell you it’s good for you, Ever had an electric shock !!!! ). IT’S OK you will only have convulsions for a while then after that maybe SEIZERS. Look it up on the internet ELECTRICCONVULSIVE SHOCK TREATMENT. ( Dose it sound fun yet ).
7) After you have been ELECTRICUTED 12or more time you will be classed as incapacitated and then be referred to the GUARDIANSHIP AND ADDMINASTRATION TRIBUNAL were they will give everything you own to the PUBLIC TRUSTEE OF QUEENSLAND who gets to keep all your money wont give you a cent wont pay your rent plus what ever they want that belongs to you. GUARDIANSHIP will have the say over the rest of you, When you can see a Doctor and when you carn’t or what you might need to feel better it has to be oked by them who also wont answer any call you make to them.
8) Between MENTAL HEALTH, PUBLIC TRUST and GUARDIANSHIP together the will gang up on you and your family or friends stop them from seeing you by BLAMING them off ripping you off when your not, Ask you questions at the Tribunal about your bank statement that only the bank could answer that’s how they get everything you own by asking you questions you carn’t answer.
9) Complaints if you have a complaint no one in the system out of 100’s of numbers you will be given no one will explain any thing to you, You will be told to call quality complaints who will tell you they have nothing to do with MENTAL HEALTH they will also tell you to go away and don’t ring us, But you will be threatened with the POLICE or SECURITY and brought before more Tribunals.
10) Mental Health can change there minds at any time they feal like it tell you are going home when you are not really give you extra pills before a Tribunal, ( To help drug you out for the incapacitated look at the Tribunal to get there way ). Change your medication when ever they feel like it to more of a stronger drug and the more you own the stronger the drugs.
11) At the MENTAL HEALTH TRIBUNAL will run you down with things they could not possibly even no and anything you tell them will be twisted and used against you and anything anyone else says.
12) Over rule anything you or your family mean to you such as power of attorney, Your parents being your guardians and over ruling any rights or say your parents know about you and call then a layer and they don’t know what thay are talking about.
13) Get your bank statements from the Bank Account, Centerlink, Phone Account, Internet, Power Account, Real-e-state and do back ground checks with out you knowing it and even take you to court and send you some were your family wont find you.
14) Mental Health can and will let every one in your street that you are under the Mental Health ACT and even drag you from Home, Work, if you are working in front of all your work mates.
15) Get you alone in a room by your self under the influence to try and get you to sign papers by your self and if you don’t sign the papers, ( To be ELECTROCUTED, Ever had an electric shock ), They can and will sign them for you and say you did and its an emergence to have you ELECTROCUTED and the MENTAL HEALTH Tribunal will say yes. Even if you are under the influence and not fealing in your right frame of mind cause of the medications, Or don’t want it.
16) Always switching and changing Doctors on you same as GUARDIANSHIP, PUBLIC TRUST, MENTAL HEALTH. 99% are not fully qualified Doctors not only that most people who work in the system were once in MENTAL HEALTH.
17) Mental Health goes into age care units looking for there next electric shock victoms.

Treating the patient,getting the right diagnosis,and the right medication IS a GUESSSING GAME,as you say..but you know what?Mental Illness runs in my family,and it isn't like diabetes where you just test them&give them insulin,and they're all better.Wouldn't life for MILLIONS be easier if it was.I'm sorry about your story.I know people,and even my grandfather had E.C.T.'s done...they kill your memory,and to some extent-your personality!!! :( Also,not all medicine is addictive,and nobody can force you to take them,unless you are a threat to yourself,or others.I've been on,and off meds for 22 years now! It's just part of life.

heres my answer. If you do not have a mental illness then dont take medication. Simple as that. If you have a mental illness that requires you to be medication because you will be harmful to yourself or others, then you NEED to be on it, regardless of the crappy things that come with it. And if you're getting hauled away to the psych ward then clearly you need to be on it, because being a harm to oneself or others is the only way that police can force you to be there against your will.
It's a choice people make, weather the risks outweigh the beneifts for that person. Unless that person is not capable of making that choice. Mental Health does it's job and protects people and keeps people off the strees and from committing crimes that could possibly be happening if they werent there. It is a voluntary thing that is there to help us when we need it. It is only forcing people to be on meds or be hospitilized when they are a clear threat.
And not all drugs are "addictive". That's very untrue. This might be your story but it's not everyone else's so stop filling peoples heads with garbage who might actually be interested in getting help from Mental Health for their problems.

Have you checked to see if there's a civil rights attorney or a civil rights law clinic or a poverty law clinic in Qld? It sounds like you need legal help!! I used to work for one in the US, and we fought for the civil rights of mentally ill and mentally retarded persons. It was appalling what violations of basic human dignity, safety, medical practices, and drugging of people that happened in hospitals. I had one client who had ECT and a lobotomy without his informed consent. This was because he stole a pair of shoes, and had schizophrenia. He was supposed to be in the hospital about 2 years max, and they "lost" him in the system and he spent 47 years there.

Overall, here in the States things have gotten much better than that. The system now goes overboard in protecting people's civil rights. Each state is different, but the laws in each have been modernized to reflect a legal and humane treatment of people with mental illness. Maybe, when you get the chance, you could move to the States.

Try a lawyer first. You would not get a visa right now based on your "history."

I'm not sure where to begin. My husband might be taking a job in Australia...Queensland. The company helps us with re-location and setting up a bank...His Visa...etc. But I have a few questions..well alot..but a few for now.

1. All my bills are from the U.S.A..he will be getting paid in AU money..so how do I pay them over there?

2. Also, if we choose to live in the city...will I need to buy a car..or are most things within walking or biking distance.

3. If he is sponsored on a 457 Visa...am I able to work over there? Are jobs hard to find?

4. How is the housing...we like small places..just me and my hubby so a small place is fine....What is the cost average?

5. Is there alot of crime?

6. I play poker...here in the States...on a regular basis..do they have Casino's with Texas Hold'em? Is online poker legal?

7. Will my laptop work there...I mean will i be able to charge it or do I need a special adaptor...what about internet is offered in many places? High Speed?

Yes..the exchange rate is horrible at the present moment for sure. However the job pays a good salary AU vs. USA ...after you exchange his salary from AU to USD its a huge pay increase.

It really depends on where you choose to live. The rail network in brisbane is actually pretty good. Check out qr.com.au when you get a little closer and you can see the rail stations. Buses are a little less reliable however have a more flexible infrastructure. Parking in most brisbane suburbs is ample, with the majority of houses having off street parking.

Jobs are not hard to find. Retail jobs and hospitality jobs always have an abundance of positions. try seek.com.au or mycareer.com.au for more job listings closer to the date.

To rent or buy? Renting in Brisbane has become more expensive, however in comparison to other cities isnt too bad.

Really depends on the area. Most places are pretty good. I live in the outer northern suburbs of brisbane, apparently in not such a great area and I have never ever been broken into or attacked.

You will need an adapter. Internet is good and high speed. Offered by a multitude of companies. Try Telstra and Optus - They are the main telephone suppliers and are most likely to give you a good deal for bundling your home phone, internet and mobiles.
