What would I do to buy something online with my canadian BMO bank card?please do explain thanks guyz
xoxo
just like any other card -- when they ask for the card information type it in!!!
www.bankofmontrealonline.net- Online Banking with Bank of Montreal
I was wondering if i could buy things online with my BMO debit card without paypal because i dont want to wait for the damn 5 day to deposit money thing.
I am in Canada
because the debit card does not have the expiry date or security value number
You can use a service called EMAIL MONEY TRANSFER (EMT) formely known as Certapay.
The only catch is the other party has to have a bank account in Canada with one of the major 6 Canadian banks (CIBC, Royal, BMO, TD, Scotia...)
It costs $1.50 for the service, but like you I do not like to wait and certapay (EMT) is instant and free, and safe, and cannot be reversed or used fraudulently for the most part.
here is the site from interact

When I registered with my own bank (it wasn't with the Bank of Montreal though!), I initially did everything over the phone because it was all to with online banking only.
I originally applied online, they called me back to confirm everything a couple of days later (that call lasted maybe 30 minutes), they sent me some information in the mail including a very valuable ATM card and BANG! I was set!
They never called me back after that and neither did I!
Everything I needed to do in order to handle my finances and manage my money was either done through the ATM or online.
Hope this helps!
can you use bank of montreal debit card to purchase stuff online? where they accept visa, mastercard.
but the bmo debit card do not have expiry date and stuff like that.
I don't see why not I see on E-bay often that folks from the far north sell on e-bay and ask one way or the other. I would make sure that when I would go on line that I was in the Canadian version ie Yahoo/Canada. surely they will accept their own method of payment there.
I went to my bank (Bank of Montreal, Canadian) and set up an additional checking account. I have a PayPal account set up, and I want to add the bank account to PayPal.
I know the insitution number. However, I do not know the Bank Transit Number. I do not have any cheques to get the number from, because I am not old enough to use checks. I know you have to be 18 for Paypal, but I am not. My parrents are letting me do this however.
They may sometimes put some cash into my separate paypal account for me to buy things online for them because there not too computer savvy, but I still want it set up in my name not theirs.
Any help would be great. Could I just call the bank and ask?
Call the bank and ask. They will give the routing number without asking any further questions except maybe if you have an account there.
BMO Financial Group - News Releases
TORONTO, February 16, 2010 – "While we do not believe that Canada faces a housing bubble, we fully support the Minister's actions. Given the prospect of higher interest rates and the recent run-up in housing prices in some markets across Canada, the measures announced today are prudent. Currently, we require high ratio mortgages to be able to qualify using the 5 year rate," said Frank Techar, President, Personal and Commercial Banking, BMO Bank of Montreal. "For several months now, BMO has been encouraging Canadians to stress test their financial budget using a mortgage payment based on a higher interest rate. If you are looking for a bank that will listen to you, help guide you and bring clarity to home financing decisions, come in and talk to a BMO Bank of Montreal Banker."
