BE WARNED!
I have already received TWO (2) emails today that look VERY OFFICIAL from Bank of America and want me to click on a link and supply them with my "Banking Information".
First of all, Bank of America NEVER asks for your personal information by email.
Secondly, check the body of the fraudulent email you received and (in my case) look for typos like these I found:
1) It says:
"For security purpose, we are required to open an investigation into this matter."
SHOULD BE: "FOR SECURITY PURPOSES"
2) It says (at the bottom of the email):
"Bank of America Online Banking Departament"
'DEPARTAMENT"??? (B of A (or any bank for that matter) does not make spelling mistakes or typos)
Be careful, DO NOT click on any of the links, and contact your bank for an address where you can forward those emails.
For Bank of America, forward them to:
abuse@bankofamerica.com
No, I have not received an e-mail like that from a bank. All of the e-mails that I received like that said that they were from banks, but were really from somewhere else (maybe Nigeria).

I am looking to move all of my personal savings and checking accounts into a new bank because going to the small credit union I currently use is very inconvenient.
I want to find the best, preferably nationwide, bank for personal accounts. I live in TX, in The Colony but work in Carrollton and frequently go to DFW Airport for business. I have only about 50k in savings and want to start paying bills online. I would like free checking and ATMs too. I want a bank that isn't heavy on the fees and has good operating hours.
The banks I know that are in the area are Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Century Bank, Washington Mutual and Chase.
Any ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated since I don't have the time to do my own research. Thanks in advance!
My vote is for Bank of America!

I have recieved this email from the Bank of America - i assume it is a scam as i have never heard of them .. heres what the email says.
In order to protect your account from unauthorized access, we have set a limit of 3 unsuccessful attempts.Unfortunately, you have just reached that critical number of attempts, so your access to Online Banking has been locked for security purposes. Please download and complete restore form attached to this email and open it in a web browser. We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure account safety. Bank of America, N.A. Member FDIC
Then asks for you personal bank card details!
Do i report this to anyone?!
This definitely a scam. Any one asking for your personal details such as your card number or SSN, or even transferring money through Western Union is a scam. Why would a bank ask for your details, when they most likely already have it, stored in a file?
You can report it if you want to, but you can just delete it. They know nothing personal about you and you havent given anything personal to them so youre safe.
Have you even reached these 3 unsuccessful attempts they mention?

can anyone in bk,ny or queens ,ny recommend a bank that wont kill me w/ charges since i do not maintain a $2000 to $3000 balance in my checking account? i refuse to continue w/ BOA if this is how they treat long time customers. does anyone else agree? maybe customers need to stop using there atm cards for one day like ppl that dont buy gass on a set day so they can see the drop in oil prices maybe this can be done w/ banks to try & decrease these outragous charges. what do u think??? p.s i chose not to do my banking online, its just my personal choice.
Well now that every one has gotten all upset over Bank of America's new ATM fee, maybe someone should actually READ the news article instead of relying on hearsay.
Bank of America raised the ATM fee from $2 to $3 for NON-CUSTOMERS! If you have an account, you will not be charged. It's only people from other banks using the ATM that will be charged the fee.
I hate the bank I have now. I opened my current bank account with my mother and she handled all the personal information then.
I know I can get an account online but I would much rather open the account in person so I can ask someone my questions and get a real response.
I'd like to know what I have to bring to get a savings and/or a checking account. I don't want to have to make two trips to the bank.
First, you must be at least 18 years old and take with you...
Two forms of ID, a drivers license and a second form (ie credit card). Know your social security number. Also, take $25 to open the checking account and sign up for keep the change with a free savings account. Also ask if there is any reward for opening account...$25!
