Am I the only one asking this question?
Why hasn't Intuit Quicken or MS Money integrated with online banking - Wachovia, Bank of America, others?
I access my bank service 4 times a week. It would be nice if they integrated the many features currently obtained from Quicken or Money such as budgeting and money management into the banks online portal. How come no partnerships have materialized?
I am aware that both Quicken and Money allow you to download bank data to each respective program (ala "integrated").
However the ideal situation would be the following:
I don't have to purchase Quicken or Money.
I access my bank online and their online banking portal has been improved with many of the key features typically found in personal finance applications (Quicken or Money). When will the major banks wise up and realize the benefits from this level of integration/partnership?
They both DO integrate with MANY major and several not so major bank on-line services. To the extent they don't, it is usually because the BANK will not allow it or has changed their site and it is hard to keep up.
www.onlinebankingmart.com This ranks up there with bank of America, chase, and a few others as one of the more widely used banks around America.

I use a big bank for savings, but have been hearing good things about ING Direct. I can get a much better rate on savings accounts with them. Are they easy to work with? Reputable? Easy to bank online with? Easy to deposit/transfer/withdraw money?
I am not going to move the money to other types of funds, so please limit your answer to savings account suggestions, please. Thanks!
I bank online with Wells Fargo, but keep savings accounts with ING Direct to take advantage of much higher interest rates. I've used ING Direct for years for an account which I use to pay property tax twice a year.
ING Direct is an international company with a good reputation and a good track record. They make it easy to set up accounts, and it's easy to set up one-time or automatic periodic transfers to or from the accounts. However, you do have to be careful to allow enough time for the transfers to take place - usually a few days.
So I applied for a checking acct with Wachovia bank online and I assume I was approved because I got letters in the mail with my account number etc, it says all I have to do is go make an inital deposit at our local branch and show them my photo id and whatnot. question is, when i go there and make the inital deposit will they give me starter checks that day?
make the deposit at a wachovia bank and yes they will give you a temp debit card and checks right away
Who offers the best, top-notch security/protection when it comes to banking? Wachovia or Bank or America?
Each person I ask gives me a different story. "Wachovia is the best, but they have a high daily spending limit which will make it harder to catch fraudulent activity." Or "Bank of America is good, but they post routing numbers online which makes it 50% easier for someone to commit check fraud against you."
I hear their online banking is basically the same, so..?
I'm just weighting the pro's and con's of each before I make my decision, but what do you all think?
Thanks.
Also, I forgot to add that I'm considering both for a checking and savings account only.
They are both in major mortgage trouble and I wouldn't suggest putting any large amount of funds in either bank. I would use a local bank, I like local banks for larger funds because they have a better understanding of their clients and know any suspicious activity if they see it. You can even set up some extra security features at local banks that you can't at these big banks because they don't care about each individual customer.
What's In It For You (Online)? - The Wells Fargo - Wachovia Blog
@ Ian - I'm a little confused here. You stated "We now have the opportunity to tell you more about some of the features and benefits all of you Wachovia customers will enjoy as soon as you're converted to Wells Fargo Online Banking." And then you go on to tell us about some things coming soon on the horizon.
Are you saying that these are features that we, Wachovia customers, can expect once conversion is complete in our state, OR are you saying that these are features that will soon be coming to Wachovia's online banking?
I mean from what I've read and seen about Wells Fargo online banking, it seems that these "new" features you are speaking of are already standard for Wells Fargo customers.
