I got a card reader from ulsterbank for online banking security authorisation. It worked for a while but now it keeps giving me wrong codes and my card has been temporary blocked 3 times due to it. I have also had 2 new readers sent out and its doing the same thing. So it does seem obvious that its the card, but what could cause it if it was working fine and not working the next minute?
Anyone else have them problems?
Its not connection related, it states the authorisation number is wrong, and i worked for an isp so i know all about that stuff and nothings wrong there, its just the card im assuming.
Stop arguing with the morons and "loose" the card ... then they will have to send you a new one.
No technology ever works reliably on first 'launch' == you are unlucky to have a bank that has decided to use it's customers as guinea-pigs, so if you can't be bothered to help them 'debug' the system, change bank ...
NB. Most likley problems are Internet connection related ESPECIALLY if your connection is wireless (WiFi) or your home phone line has extension sockets.

I Emailed them back and asked what winnings? They told I had won
a lottery that was done through Email address and I needed to make arrangements to claim my funds. They also stated to me that
there was no cost on my part, that all I had to do was fill out the forms
to open up an internet bank account so that once they have received
the forms they require, then they will ask for the clearence of the funds
and transfer them into my internet account. They sent me the forms through Email attachments, and I went ahead and filled them out, and instead of emailing them back signed and with informations, I emailed
the Bank manager whose name is JAMES CRAWFORD and told him
I would fax the forms to him. I went down to fax the forms only to be told that they won't go through that they needed the international code.
So I came back home and did some research on my own through the
International Fraudwatch/Alert and found nothing. So I went ahead
and googled the address of the Bank and up came EMAIL SCAM.
I went ahead and Emailed Mr. Crawford back and explained my situation and also found that the ADDRESS WAS A SCAM, and the
I was going to report him. I received an Email back today, telling me
that they had used the Banks address to impersonate it, but guaranteed me that this was no scam and gave me another number
to fax my papers. So I went back online and enter the address again
and found a webpage with 40,000 plus address' for the Royal Bank Of
Scotland in and around the London area.. I also looked up the phone
number and it is valiad. So my question is should I pursue this and
send them the forms? I already reported the Email to the International
Fraudwatch. The forms just asked for my signature to open up the account and my address. I hope some one can shed some light on
this forme. Out of all the Emails I receive about Lotteries and having Won, One is bound to be real don't you think?
I hope you are joking friend. Sorry friend but there is no Microsoft, Yahoo or other e-mail lottery, it's a scam do not answer do not give personal information. The following sites give more information

Hi, I applied for the student royalites account with Royal Bank of scotland online. during the application process it was clear i was applying for a student account, however midway through the application i was given a choice to open a key accountor cash account...i was confused as i thought i was opening a student account. as the application did mention student account i thought i'll just go for key account. today i received my welcome letter etc for a key account??? would the key account change to a student account for me?? or is the student account known as a key account?? I dont know if anyone can help me here and I have tried calling the bank but was put on long queue, all advice will be helpful, thanks
The Key account and Student Royalties are different accounts.
The Key account is a basic bank account which comes with no overdraft facility and a Solo debit card. These accounts are usually aimed at customers without perfect credit histories.
The Student Royalties account comes with an interest free overdraft, up to £2,500 dependent on credit rating. You will also get a Maestro Cheque Guarantee card, which is more widely accepted. On top of this the student account comes with benefits for students such as discounts at selected shops and nights out.
If you are a student who is about to head of to university, then a student account is probably more appropriate. To get this sorted you will need to contact RBS in some way, either by telephone or in a branch.
I applied for the student account online, I got the relevant paperwork 2 weeks ago and I sent it off then.. and today I received a letter stating that my application has been processed and an account has been opened for me. But the account name is key account??? I definitely applied for a student account and on the form it clearly said that I'm a student etc. Or is the student account just known as a key account? PLEASE HELP. cheers x
I do not think a Key Account is a Student Account.
I was looking at both accounts online, and what you could do with them - With the Key Account you cannot activate an overdraft, where as a Student Account you can... there are other advanatges with a Student Account too. If i were you, I'd apply online for a student accoutn again - http://www.rbs.co.uk/personal/current-ac counts/g1/student/apply.ashx?DCMP=ILC-St uScMSApply
I'm 17, and currently have a Royal bank of Scotland Route 21 account which came with a cashline card.
The card does not enable you to buy online which I want to do, so do I ask the bank for a new type of card or can I switch to another bank which would give me a card which would enable me to do this?
Cheers
Lloyds-TSB basic bank account comes with a Visa card. You can us it online anywhere in the world where you see the Visa sign,as long as there is money in your account. It is not a credit card.
