I am confused between ANZ and Commonwealth bank.I want to know which is good for its service, banking, finding ATM's around the city(Melbourne), internet banking and customer service.
Even in Melbourne, I'd recommend the Bank of Queensland. I've been with them for years; their service is great and always friendly and you can even call branches directly - they're all listed in the phone book. They have (I think ) 4 branches in the Melbourne CBD and 20 odd ATMs plus heaps of both in the suburbs. They also have an SMS 'locate a branch or ATM' service where you SMS the suburb name and postcode and you get a message with the 4 closest ATMs or branches. The bank doesn't charge for this - you only pay your normal SMS charge.
They advertise that they have the 2nd largest ATM network in Australia.
For various work reasons, I've had accounts with ANZ, Commonwealth and Westpac over the years and they're not a patch on BoQ for service.

I am absolutely stoked with the service of my local credit union. I have a VISA debit card through them, and now a mastercard credit card.
I have no fees EVER on my account with them, unlimited ATM transactions from any ATM and no fees, not even an establishment fee for the VISA debit.
I would suggest trying the smaller banks before stickign with the mainstream ones.
P.S. i get no fees because I am a long time member and have a mortgage
is there a way i can do it on the internet because i need my bank details by tomorrow morning and the banks are closed and if i dont give it to them i wont be paid. :o HEEELLPPP. by the way im with ANZ Australia
It is all on your bank statement.
The BSB number and your account number.
You won't get it off the internet unless you already did internet banking.

Financial services provider Australia & New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) has decided to discontinue its ANZ M-Banking mobile banking service starting mid-May 2010, recent reports indicate. The bank’s ANZ Mobile Banking service will remain operational, however the latter can only be accessed by users who own iPhone or iPod Touch devices.
According to online media outlet zdnet.com.au, the bank’s decision has several underlying factors. Among them are the decreased popularity of the ANZ M-Banking service among its customers, as well as the fact that the same functionalities can be accessed via the ANZ TXT Banking, ANZ Internet Banking and ANZ Phone Banking services.
