I'm trying to decide between Bank of the Internet USA and Ally Bank (formerly GMAC).
2.06 and 2.05 APY seem like the best out there right now. When I signed up for Apple Bank a few years ago it was over 5 APY and now it is 1.88%.
All banks peg their savings rate to one of the various federal reserve rates. As those rates change, so do the bank rates.
Remote Check Deposit allows your business to deposit checks from your location without going to the bank
I want to open a bank account in the Philippines so I could send money every month and allow it to accumulate over time (I've heard personally carrying lots of cash through Philippine ports of entry is a BIG no-no). I've heard of Metrobank, HSBC, Citibank, Equittable PCI, Banco de Oro, and Bank of the Philippine Islands... but I have no idea which one is best for time deposits.
I would really prefer a modern bank that allows internet banking from overseas, with the best customer service personell especially when making phone transactions. A bank that still issues bankbooks where your balance gets printed on after every transaction is not what I'm looking for.
Philippine National Bank, United Coconut Planters Bank and Allied bank are out ofthe question... my relatives have been warning me of these establishments.
Any suggestions?
I've mentioned "time deposit" account, what I really meant was an ordinary "savings account".
Yes, Equitable PCI Bank.
Yes, they allow internet banking from overseas. And being merged with BDO, they have longer banking hours. And you can find BDO's in almost all SM Outlets.
9 November 2008: On November 5, 2008, the day after the US Presidential Elections....
Osama and the Brigade of Al-Quida made a worthy promise (America will not live in safety).
He wrote extensively about the blackout across the northeast US and Canada some years back and indicates this will happen again.
They claim that they indeed caused the outage and will do it again.
Below are excerpts from the text.
In implementing the orders of the Emir of the mujahedeen Osama bin Laden -Brigades of Abu Hafs al-Masri find it important to strike a second time (facilities supplying) electricity in the eastern U.S., including the most important economic cities of America and Canada as America's ally in the war against Islam (the city of Toronto and New York) and (areas) around them. (In their first strike) they caused the strike to prevent electricity for more than fifty million people.
Further text indicates possible things that these people have on their terror "Wish- List" for the USA and Canada.
(We will) hit the main stronghold of the American economy
(international exchange). For your information, the American economy depends entirely on investor confidence.
The arrest (takeover) of seven major airports, a blow to the airlines.
Disable nine nuclear reactors and this has not happened before is a strong economic, as the reactors, nine are in the states of New York and New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan.
Disruption of transportation: trains, cars and trucks .... etc., causing heavy casualties.
Disruption of the Internet, which depend upon (Internet data transfer) in commercial transactions.
Disruption of global banks based in New York.
Losses (financial due to) to a massive deployment of police and security forces.
The economy that will lose electricity in the United States and Canada will cost the U.S. Treasury at least ten billion U.S. dollars. Deterioration of the U.S. dollar against other currencies.
WHAT IS AN EMP ATTACK? EVERY AMERICAN SHOULD KNOW THIS!
I feel the only way he can possibly do all he says Al Quida will do is by an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack on the American homeland...
Few if any people would die right away. But the loss of power would have a cascading effect on all aspects of U.S. society. Communication would be largely impossible. Lack of refrigeration would leave food rotting in warehouses, exacerbated by a lack of transportation as those vehicles still working simply ran out of gas (which is pumped with electricity). The inability to sanitize and distribute water would quickly threaten public health, not to mention the safety of anyone in the path of the inevitable fires, which would rage unchecked. And as we have seen in areas of natural and other disasters, such circumstances often result in a fairly rapid breakdown of social order.
American society has grown so dependent on computer and other electrical systems that we have created our own Achilles' heel of vulnerability, ironically much greater than those of other, less developed nations. When deprived of power, we are in many ways helpless, as the New York City blackout made clear. In that case, power was restored quickly because adjacent areas could provide help. But a large-scale burnout caused by a broad EMP attack would create a much more difficult situation. Not only would there be nobody nearby to help, it could take years to replace destroyed equipment.
Transformers for regional substations, for example, are massive pieces of equipment that are no longer manufactured in the United States and typically take more than a year to build. In the words of another witness at the hearing, "The longer the basic outage, the more problematic and uncertain the recovery of any [infrastructure system] will be. It is possible -- indeed, seemingly likely -- for sufficiently severe functional outages to become mutually reinforcing, until a point at which the degradation . . . could have irreversible effects on the country's ability to support any large fraction of its present human population." Those who survived, he said, would find themselves transported back to the United States of the 1880s.
This threat may sound straight out of Hollywood, but it is very real. CIA Director Porter Goss recently testified before Congress about nuclear material missing from storage sites in Russia that may have found its way into terrorist hands, and FBI Director Robert Mueller has confirmed new intelligence that suggests al Qaeda is trying to acquire and use weapons of mass destruction. Iran has surprised intelligence analysts by describing the mid-flight detonations of missiles fired from ships on the Caspian Sea as "successful" tests. North Korea exports missile technology around the world; Scuds can easily be purchased on the open market for about $100,000 apiece.
A terrorist organization might have trouble putting a nuclear warhead "on target" with a Scud, but it would be much easier to simply launch and detonate in
I googled it and found the EMP attack here:

The partnership between Rios and Lita lasted only until May. Upset when Lita found Rios with one of the Godfather's women, Lita cost Rios several matches. Upset at the double-cross, Rios turned on Lita until the Hardy Boys rushed the ring and saved her.
Now in the Hardys' corner, Lita would aid them in their feud with Test, Albert and Trish Stratus, even teaming with Matt and Jeff, as well as taking on Trish in singles matches. But Trish wasn't the only woman that Lita faced, as she defeated Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley for the WWE Women's Championship on August 21, 2000.
Not willing to simply have the Hardys fight her battles, Lita climbed into the ring to defeat Malenko on Raw in February 2001. It was after that match that Matt kissed Lita, bringing their real-life romance into the storylines.
Lita's boyfriend Matt Hardy returned and teamed with her against Bischoff and Holly. However, the match became a nightmare when Hardy dumped her and Bischoff fired her. However, she found an unlikely benefactor as Christian went to Bischoff and got Lita her job back. It was soon learned, though, that Christian was only helping Lita as part of a bet between he and Chris Jericho over who could score with a Diva first. Lita and Trish challenged Jericho and Christian to a "Battle of the Sexes" match (won by Jericho and Christian) at Armageddon.
After reuniting with Matt in the ring, the couple found themselves under attack from Kane. As Kane attempted to injure Matt, Lita agreed to sleep with him and later found herself pregnant with his child. Matt vowed revenge but lost a "Til Death Do Us Part" match at SummerSlam, with Kane earning the right to marry Lita, a ceremony that took place on Raw on August 23, 2004.
Lita's feelings for Kane changed after she was injured by Gene Snitsky and lost her unborn child. Lita seemed united with Kane in their quest for revenge against Snitsky. Meanwhile Lita's feud with Trish Stratus flared up again, with Lita defeating Trish to win the Women's title on December 6th on Raw.
Her relationship with Matt Hardy was over, and she was now seeing Adam "Edge" Copeland. Internet reports on the situation behind the scenes would turn the crowds against Lita.
Lita and Kane would continue to team against Trish and her new ally Viscera, but on May 16, 2004, Lita would turn on her "husband" during the finals of the Gold Rush tournament and align herself with his opponent: Edge. For several weeks, it seemed as if the WWE was telling the Edge/Matt/Lita storyline with Kane substituting for Matt. Edge and Lita even went so far as to get married in Las Vegas during a Raw episode.
However, the in-ring storylines would become even more realistic when Matt Hardy began making appearances on Raw, jumping Edge from behind and threatening to make Edge and Lita's life "a living hell." The feud between Kane and Edge continued, with Kane seemingly kidnapping an injured Lita after a stretcher match against Edge. However, Lita was well enough to appear in Edge's corner at SummerSlam and the next night on Raw to gloat over Edge's victory over Matt.
Lita would be at Edge's side during his battles against her former boyfriend, Hardy. She even got to give Matt the Twist of Fate following one clash. At WWE Homecoming, Lita accompanied Edge during his victory over Hardy in a "Money In the Bank, Loser Leaves Raw Ladder Match", which saw Lita's former beau leave Raw.
Lita would also be by Edge's side as he battled Ric Flair" and then John Cena at New Year's Revolution, during which Edge became WWE Champion. Lita got to enjoy the spoils of Edge's victory during his "Live Sex Celebration", the next night on Raw. Unfortunately, the real news came when Lita accidentally showed more than she wanted to.
We had interferences from Matt Hardythe most famous is the one when he said "See me in Ring Of Honor",many tag-team matches as Matt & Jeff vs Edge & Lita when Matt did a twist of fate on a chair,We had great matches like the steel cage between matt and edge. Was it the best storyline ever in World Wrestling Entertainment?
yea it was a great storyline, Hardy boyz in their prime were amazing as 3Extreme, and it was pretty cool when the edge lita drama unfolded it felt real, i never knew was it actually real in real life too i was pretty sure it was but i find it hard to believe for something like that to happen and them two coexist in the same company that easily.
The political background against which the 2008 US Elections took place was hardly a predictable one. (R)Senator John McCain of Arizona, a decorated war veteran and proven leader ran against the relatively unknown (D) Senator Barack Obama of Illinois.
One major difference separated these two men: Barack Obama’s charisma and political savvy. Senator John McCain certainly fit the bill to be appointed to the highest office in the world, but he lacked the flair and flamboyance of Senator Barack Obama.
While Obama was able to rattle off the right words as effortlessly as greased lightning, McCain would fumble and stutter – not through his inability for structured thought and strategic leadership, but rather through his incompetence as a public speaker.
Obama wooed voters with his dynamic approach. He made use of the internet, public funds and a huge disillusioned base of Bush-era fatigued voters. The failed war in Iraq – often cited as the legacy of the Bush Presidency, was usurped by the Obama administration for all its worth.
Voters needed a scapegoat and all Bush-era doctrine and foreign policy bore the brunt. It was a case of old-school Republican failures vs. an era of Democratic liberalism and inflated government. Obama promised a rapid de-escalation of the Iraq war effort, a focus on education and clean energy, affordable health care, special attention on minority rights and a total break from the past.
McCain was blindsided by his own campaign. They painted him as the humble, decorated war hero of yesteryear. McCain has been toted as a self-made man, a leader of men and a qualified candidate for the world’s highest office. But McCain failed to offer what it was that the Obama campaign was so successfully promoting – Change.
Americans had long grown tired and distrustful of a war effort that was based on false assumptions. There were no WMD in Iraq. It appeared to the public as if Bush and Cheney were pursuing a personal agenda of the old-school Republican think tank: attack Iraq, destroy its infrastructure and seek to impose democratic governance through unilateral initiatives. Bush was a man of action, not scared to act alone when the world dragged its feet. This proved fatal at some points, especially when America’s actions were deemed illegal and expansionist by parties in the region.
Bush acted on his threats and he cautioned the world against the rising threat of Islamic militancy. The EU and other allies of the United States were war weary and they were reluctant to commit themselves to an unpopular military campaign with no end in sight. Britain, a longtime friend of the United States, withdrew its forces followed by other countries. Owing to global protests against the war efforts, rising costs in civilian and military casualties and the enormous financial burden entailed, the war rhetoric was losing support at a geometric rate.
Against this backdrop of declining support for President Bush – all-time low approval ratings ensued – Barack Obama ascended the ranks of the Democrat Party. He brushed passed Hillary Clinton who ultimately had nothing but praise for the new candidate. Obamania had gripped the world. Barack Obama was simply unstoppable. He spoke of change, of Main Street and not Wall Street, he championed the little man and not the corporate, he spoke effortlessly and plainly of the challenges that Americans face on a daily basis.
Then the Achilles Heel of the Republican campaign struck. The Global Crisis of late 2008. Within a short period of time the housing crisis, mortgages banks, sub-prime lending rates, credit crunch and international insurers and financial/investment houses hit the headlines. It wasn’t good news that was awaiting the world. Massive and widespread layoffs and unemployment ensued; corporate bankruptcies by the dozen, home foreclosures, credit drying up and a crisis of unimaginable proportions gripped the global market. Fear and panic swept like a raging wildfire through the hearts of Americans as first their jobs, then their homes and their families’ livelihoods were at stake.
Obama was elected to the highest office. McCain was relegated to the annals of history as the man who challenged, but was ultimately defeated by President Obama. This was the coup de grace of the Obama camp. McCain and his old school Republican friends were seen as the enemy by the American people. Bush and anyone associated with him was a symbol of failure, of unilateralism, of deceit. The Republicans were seen as pro-corporate and against the average working-class American. Obama promised tax-cuts to 95% of Americans, according to his perception of income brackets. McCain could only cling to Obama’s coattails and offer the American public that he would work alongside Obama in the new presidency.
Obama seized on this crisis and presented what appeared like a workable plan to the American people. This came in the form of a massive and unprecedented bailout. Hundre
I believe his actions are speaking loud and clear. His huge stimulus package was nothing short than an attempt to force the states' to give us some of the power reserved only to them allowing the federal government more control. He has managed to get control over the car industry dictating what they should do and how they should do it. He got publicly angry about the AIG bonuses and created a huge stir so that American citizens terrorized anyone who worked for AIG even if they were innocent. However, he failed to tell you that Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac got over 50 million dollars worth of bonuses. He spent time in Europe making statements about how he was sorry for the United States, praised the Muslims and Germans and was outright disrespectful to our allies. He thumbs his nose at defense and thinks that he can make our enemies play nice. He proposed a three trillion plus budget that will create ungodly amounts of taxes on the American citizen and especially the small business sector so that we will see more an more unemployment and failed businesses.
My opinion? Obama's agenda is destruction of Americans freedoms and way of life. He is methodically tearing it down little by little.
Economic Depression by McCain's Military Adventures Or by Obama's ...
Banking industry is now in crisis because banks do not accept safe abundant debt to disinterestedness ratios, (reserve requirements) constant in a astringent acclaim crunch, I am reminded of the band-aid that was discussed in my antecedent book The apple Anew p.386 that was appear 2 years ago.
