You've asked a good question.

All wireless routers have security abilities built in to them, but most people never use them.

For example, You can password protect your WiFi, but do you? If you do use some built in security, Do use the old, weak WEP password encryption, or the newer, stronger WPA II?

[You know, its sad that when you call Linksys, Belkin, or Netgear for support with internet security, those very bad "technicians" try to make you use WEP. That encryption is so weak that a child could crack it in an hour.]

If you use the WPA, is your password a short name or something long and random like <>O4*)L-]rCNiF:osCEM)X#9$~0N3WN0E4&Q`G)g.Z!*>O9e,:xamJC0T&r!KSK generated by kurt.net?

They say that passwords are like underwear, change them often.

Next, make your network invisible by hiding your SSID. (The SSID is the name given to your routers wireless network.) Hackers who know how could stiff "sniff" out your network, but it makes it just that much more difficult for the average Joe to bust you open.

Last, besides a strong password with WPA II and hiding your network, I recommend using the router's MAC Address filtering ability. Create a WHITE LIST of the MAC Address of all your wireless computers using your network. This means that even if someone should be able to find your network and crack your password code, they'd have to spoof the number off your wireless card, as well.

And the good news is that all of this is invisible to your internet banking service so nothing is slowed down by your efforts to protect yourself.

When it comes to internet security there is no such thing as too much.

if you have vodaphone contract phone it is free otherwise it will cost you. You don't need anything special just for banking, if you have internet access you should know the cost if it is not for free. It is as any other website you visit. But first you needd to make sure u can do it on your phone, because my phone of O2 with windows mobile 5 system connected to my bak account but it didn't work well

Can't be done unless the bank allows you access.

Hello friends, I have an account in ING VYSYA bank. I apply for the internet Banking. They send the pin number but it is not working. Can any one give me a suggestion.

Call the Customer Service Department at 1-800-425-9900 from BSL/MTNL phones or +91 (1800) 425-9900 from anywhere else.

Looks a bit like a cookie issue; session cookies to be more specific.
For Firefox, configure this first:
Tools> Options> Privacy: top drop menu set to "Firefox will use custom settings..."> Check 'Accept Cookies from sites'
& **Un-Check 'Accept 3rd Party cookies'**
From drop menu, "Keep until (they expire)"
This small utility will assist managing (allow/disallow) cookies on a "site-by-site" basis:
Cookie Button 0.9.3: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1247

Internet Explorer users, do this first:
Tools> Internet options> Security> tick the "Internet" icon> Security level box> set slider to "Medium high"> OK out. Then:

IE (pre-8): Go to the site first> Tools> Internet options> Security> tick the 'Trusted' icon> Sites> Add> ok> out
Note this setting may permit undesirable 'Active scripting' or other server based action: use with caution, especially if you have 'Active content' allowed.
Again, supplemental blockers, in browsers mainly, may have to be muted, or 'site allowed'.

Stop undesirable advertising:
INTERNET EXPLORER: Tools> Internet Options> Privacy> Advanced:
here check 'Override automatic....'; 'Allow session cookies'; 'Allow 1st party cookies' & **'Block 3rd Party Cookies'**.

IE 8:
Go to the site needing approval & copy the URL from address bar, then:
Tools> Internet Options> Privacy> Sites> paste that URL into top line> Allow> OK> OK.
The "Pop-up Blocker" may also need to be modified to accommodate the site.
Tools> Internet Options> Pop up blocker heading> Settings> again, paste that URL into the slot> Close> OK.
