The email closed with a company name and ABN (Australian Business Number - required to do business in Australia). I have Googled the company name and come up with a blank, but the ABN is real and belongs to a finance transfer company.

Do Yahooers think this a legitimate job offer or some sort of scam? Should I respond (bearing in mind that I have no intention of handing over any personal details)?

Sounds like a scam! This happened to me, usually you do not get inquiries on your resume the day you put them up. I did and I almost fell for it. Do a good search on the company, it will tell you. A lot of these things are pyramid scams

Also, I would say if you are going to contact them, ask them questions. This answer says to call, that is a good idea. When there ask specific questions, if they lead you around the bush, this means it is definitely a scam. When this happened to me, they spoke a lot, but didn't really tell me what I would be doing or specific details.
