I recently got a paypal credit line through bait and switch (I was applying for the credit card). The new credit line shows up as a negative score on my credit report. Will my credit score go up if I close this account?
A new line of credit will lower your credit score a small amount for about 6 months because of the new "hard" inquiry.
How does the credit line show up negative? Your credit has already taken the hit for the hard pull, if you close the account your score will not increase.

You cannot send a transaction over $10,000 at a time through paypal. They are limited to 10k. Other than that there are limits regarding sending and receiving on a paypal account until your account is verified and/or upgraded to a premier or business account. Paypal blocks certain transactions here and there if they feel there is a potential risk to the buyer or seller. It is not possible to determine which and what transactions these may be. Call PayPal. If he got a line of credit through them, he obviously got literature in the mail about it; there should be a phone number there. Keeping a PayPal balance negative is not a good thing though, they can report you to a collections agency.

You can use Craigs List. U just wont have the added feature that helps prevent fraud. But you can fight that by making all the transaction in person (IN PUBLIC).

If thieves can hack into one account, they can hack into other accounts with the same password. I have 11 different accounts I check regularly between e-mail, eBay, PayPal and Facebook, and they each have their own unique, complicated password. If you use credit cards, have one that you use solely for online purchases and one that you use solely for all other purchases. If one credit card account is taken over, say the one you do NOT use for online purchases and suddenly online purchases begin showing up, the credit card company is much more likely to catch the theft because the charges will be outside your normal purchasing pattern.
