Uk Credit Card On Line

i am a british citizen working and living in Saudi Arabia i cannot find a credit card application on line without needing an address and residense details for either the USA or the UK , how can i find a card that does not require this

I cancelled my (UK)credit card in March this year, having paid off all the balance. Then out of the blue a few weeks ago I received a bill for £140 on the cancelled card. This turned out to be payment for a home insurance policy with direct line which I had also cancelled (two years ago!). Direct Line have admitted fault and I am awaiting a refund. Unfortunately they cannot refund the card because it no longer 'exists' since I cut it up. So I am still waiting for a cheque. However, the issue remains with the credit card. Do they have the right to make a payment from a cancelled credit agreement, even if, originally, the premium was renewable annually? Surely if I have canclled the card they should refuse payment to any creditors who present for payment, and refer them back to the customer? Did the credit card company act illegally? Can I refuse to pay?

the sentence you said, :"Unfortunately they cannot refund the card because it no longer 'exists' since I cut it up." makes no sense to me since the reason they CAN refund the card is because an account still exists on the record.

I don't believe the credit card company acted illegally, it was merely an error that could be corrected easily if you present documents like the letter you sent them cancelling the credit card. There is no need to "refuse to pay" since you didn't owe it to the credit card company. Once they see the dates of the cancellation and the date of the payment request they will correct your account and will write and tell you it's been corrected. Be sure that you check your credit report to see it's been cleared. If not, send then a copy of the retraction by your credit card company.

I pay all of my bills over t'internet. I cant see it being a problem no matter where in the world you are.

the national UK lottery only seems to take debit cards, is this correct?

How can someone justify going into debt to gamble on winning against major odds?

Nothing to show for, and will file Bankruptcy, while those who "Pay" their debt will absord this as part of the credit card's loss mitigation.

WE PAY for people like this to run up cards and not pay.
The Credit Card Companies, RAISE the interest rates on us to remain profitable, (they DON"T lose ,trust me).. Credit card debt is the the WORST kind of debt, with typical $2,000 debt taking 12-15 years to pay off, at an amortized 30 or more percent return to the company.
Insane.

I have to say how extremely unhappy I am with the MBNA voice recognition system.All you get now is a pre-programmed voice recognition system. Here's the highlights of the conversation with a machine!

Machine:In order to help you,please tell me why you've rang today?
Me:I want to activate my new credit card.
Machine:I'm sorry,I didn't quite catch that.Could you tell me why you've rang today.
Me:(Slowed my speech down to that of a child).I.Want.To.Ac-tiv-ate.My.New.Cre-dit.Card.
Machine:I'm sorry,but do you want an update of your credit balance?
Me:(Shouting down to that of a simple instruction.)No! I.Want.To.Ac-tiv-ate.My.New.Credit.Card!
Machine:What is the credit card number?
Me:My credit card number is **.
Machine:I'm sorry,I did not recognise that number.Would you repeat it please?
Me:(Talking like a child yet again) My credit card number is **.

Poor me! I'm taking my business elsewhere! I've had enough of this useless system and have told them so. Is it me? Or is everyone with MBNA in the same boat? Does this useless contraption recognise any language,dialect,or overseas accents?
