Who do you give credit for saving the union army at Gettysburg?

I say Col. Joshua Chamberlain who held the Union left flank on Little Round Top. If not for his men the union line would have been flanked and rolled up.

Grant was still in Tennessee. (The answerer below is correct-he was finishing up the Vicksburg campaign)
Actually the guy who deserves credit is Gen Buford. It was his insight and eye for terrain, that forced the Confederates to deploy, giving time for the rest of the Union troops to come up and concentrate.

AFA Little Round Top, there were Union forces elsewhere in the line and in reserve (some of whom had seen no fighting that day-as the Confederates concentrated on the southern part of the Union line) that could've been brought up. Also the Confederates, were near exhaustion-I doubt seriously they could've maintained momentum especially through that terrain. A serious situation-but not deadly. Certainly not as lethal as the movie "Gettysburg" portrays.

Iowa phone scam poses as credit union call - KTTC Rochester ...

NEVADA, Iowa (AP) -- Nevada residents who haven't yet gotten a phone call from a scammer posing as a credit union can expect one soon.

Police say a scam to get people to give out banking or credit card information is making its way through every phone number in Nevada.

The recorded call purports to come from a Nevada credit union, but police say the credit union is unaware of the phone calls and is unaffiliated with the scam.

Police say the calls are using "caller ID spoofing," which allows their number to appear as a legitimate business.

Because the scam likely crosses international borders, police say it will be difficult to prosecute, and any money lost to the scam will be nearly impossible to recover.
