I'm not able to get a Student Loan, so I'm planning on looking into a Student Line of Credit at a few different banks just to see what the different options are such as interest rates, minimum monthly payments, and things like that. I've never had to look into anything like this so was wondering if anyone has tips on what other questions I should ask/your experience with a certain bank? Thanks! :)
If you cant get a student loan, you probably wont be able to get a student line of credit either, there basically the same thing, just the way you recieve you money and interest is different.
To get either loans, you will need a co-sign from someone that has good credit. which is not always the easiest to find :(
Best Wishes!

I have applied for a student line of credit through scotia bank. Both my parents have co-signed it. I dont have very much savings because I just paid half of my tuition. Do you think i will qualify?
If your parents are considered strong co-signers then you will get your student line of credit. (because if you default and run up the card and then not make your payments on time... they get to pay it off).
It is the same as a credit card.
You get a preset spending limit and of course a monthly bill.

I want to get a student line of credit, but I don't have a cosignor and I only work about 12 hours a week. Will they give me credit, and does it matter how long I've been at my job?
It's quite possible that they will. To choose a card, go to www.bankrate.com, choose the Credit Cards tab. Under "Compare Credit Card Rates, click on Select by Credit Card Type <Search>. On the right, choose the Credit Card Type - Student Card -<Update> and compare the cards to see which is best for you. If you have bad credit, switch Credit Card Type to Credit Type. Good luck!
Go to www.myfico.com, click on Credit Education. Read all you can, because what you don't know CAN hurt you.

You are entitled by law to a free credit report once a year from EACH of the three major credit bureaus. I recommend you check each bureau once a year, a different one every four months. The only site to get a totally free credit report is www.annualcreditreport.com. Make sure everything is correct. Your FICO score is not free, however.

I'm entering the final term of my college program, but am having second thoughts about my field. My student line of credit expires a year after graduation. Is it possible for me to extend it if I want to go back in the fall?
What do you mean by student line of credit?
If you mean your student loans....as long as your college considers you a half-time student (six credits per semester if you are an undergrad), your student loans will stay the way they are right now. It's only after you drop below halftime status that the clock starts ticking.
I went in to apply for a student line of credit to TD but after looking at my profile they told me that my application would not be accepted but i insisted them to file it and at the end it was rejected. I am a full time postsecondary student but to get the student line of credit approved i was supposed to get a co-signer and as i am new to this city i coudnt get one. Now the situation is that i need the money from the line of credit in next week and i have no idea how to solve this co-signer problem. I know that every problem has a way around but i dont know how can i get this stuff done, but i am pretty sure that there are some tips n tricks for getting this loan approved without a co signer. Please somebody help me.
Student lines of credit ALWAYS require a co-signor. Reapply for a standard line of credit and you will not automatically require a co-signor but if you do not have a job, you will not get that either.

The Benefits of Student Loans - Benefits to Your Bottom Line ...
Student loans are one of the best ways to pay for college. Now, you should always try to exhaust all other options first—you know, the ones you don’t have to pay back. That is not to say student loans are not a great financial aid option. They’re fantastic, really, but you should always go for the free stuff first. Grants, scholarships and personal savings don’t need to be repaid, but often don’t cover all the necessary college costs.
That’s where the student loan comes into play. If you need financial assistance in order to pay for college yet have exhausted all other forms of aid, utilize student loans.
College Loan Terms: Plain Good Deals So many people hate borrowing money and rightfully so! Every time you take out a loan, you are taking a serious risk and making a serious commitment. Unlike regular loans, student loans have special terms that make them easier to afford and a more reasonable commitment for young college students. Many college students are not exactly the ideal borrowers. They often have little to no credit at all.
