just to see if it was true i tried to see if i could increase my credit line to 10,000 dollars from 5,000 on my bank of amercia credit card options in my online account and in seconds it said i was approved....can this be true????????/

Um.. If they said you were approved, chances are you are. You should check back in 24 hours and see if your credit limit reflects the change.

Congratulations though. 10k is a lot, just be careful with it.

There's no logical or legal reason to need credit instantly. It sounds like you're in trouble. Better to solve your problem than compound it.

I have a Citi credit card. This is the only credit card that I have.

I have been requesting credit line increases about 3 or 4 times a year on their website. It says that I have been automatically approved for a higher limit, and I click the button that says I accept it.

I was just wanting to know if this hurts my credit score any by doing this? I have not been increasing my spending any with the higher credit line, but I like having it in case I need it.

I have never had any late payments, and I always pay my balance in full before the due date.

If you apply for any kind of credit with any provider more than 6 times in 6 months then you wont be able to get anything for another 6 months if that makes sense.

3 or 4 times a year is fine as long as your not applying for any other credit elsewhere
