Question about getting a loan or line of credit?

I just recently opened checking & saving accounts with my bank. I'm never overdrawn, toss a good chunk of money in my savings account every biweekly paycheck, and cover my bills without difficulty.

I don't have any official credit though, and I've only been with this bank for almost two months. I've been considering getting a line of credit or bank loan for some other expenses that I'd like to cover. Do you think they'll cringe away from my lack of financial history? I have a meeting set up for next Friday but I want to know what to expect.

i think you can apply for a loan on line if u are not sure if your bank will not provide the loan for you u can go to www.makemoneywithhyip.blogspot.com

What can be done to regulate credit cards?

My son only 18 got a credit card on-line with out having a job . Even though we have talked to him about the problems with the cards. Now he will spend the next year trying to pay . I believe to get a credit card you should have to show proof that you can repay. Proof that you have a job, checking and saving account.
PLEASE WARN YOUR CHILDREN NOT TO USE CREDIT CARDS

There's nothing much we can do to regulate credit card companies other than just make full disclosures about the hidden fees and make these penalties easier to understand.

In my state, they began a finance campaign sponsor by the Department of Banking and Insurance and various financial companies to teach all high school students about credit cards, budgeting, and how checking and savings accounts work. The goal is to make young adults more financially responsible so that they don't build up so much debt or run into money troubles.

So its really education that can help young teens to avoid big problems in the future.

Why do people who complain about late charges just pay on-line (duh)?

On CNN (e-mails from viewers on segment on credit cards) last week they were talking about people getting their credit card statments only 7 days before it is due and people getting late fees. Why just not pay on-line..no fee, save postage, account gets credited same day or next-day at the latest??! The lack of common sense is breath-taking in this country.

Donttaz...I'm talking about when they ACTUALLY get it in the mail NOT when it is sent out!!!!!!!!!!!!

The same reason people don't read the terms and conditions and then complain when the credit card companies do something that they told them they could do in the first place.

They are lazy whiners.

Why do parents who complain about late charges all the time at my job, pay on-line (duh)?

Hell, at my job I see fellow parents always complaining about this and it makes my blood boil over the lack of common sense. The sad thing is many of them have the cash (dont live paycheck to paycheck) and still manage to pay late because of snail mail all for not paying on-line?!?!

Well with all the charges they throw in, I'm not paying another $8.50 per month just for online access to my account. Now with that being said I pay mine on time.

Are You Living Beyond Your Means? « gailvazoxlade.com

This week I’m re-posting blogs that will ask you to think about how you’re using your money. As we approach 2010, there’s no better time, psychologically, for turning over a new leaf than the beginning of a new year. But before you can hope to be successful, you have to first do some thinking, some reflecting on what’s happened over the past year, and some assessment of what’s been working and what hasn’t. So this week, here are five blogs that ask, “Are you…?”

We’re in a pickle. We aren’t saving enough and we’re carrying record levels of debt. Not just mortgage debt, though many of us have more than we can manage in terms of mortgage payments. Noooo. We’re carrying record levels of debt on our lines of credit, our credit cards, and the plain-ol’-boring loans. Why? Simple. We’ve forgotten how to live within our means. We’re ricocheting out of control, spending money we’ve yet to earn. We’re buying STUFF we think we NEED, when all we’re doing, really, is scratching our consumer itch. I mean to say, do you really NEED a TV? Do you really NEED another pair of pants? Do you really NEED that better-than-ever cell phone, camera or power saw?
