Line Credit Georgia

I need to get a credit line (not a credit card) but my home has no equity. I was told that if I put cash into a CD that I can get a CD line of Credit but I don't know which banks offer them? Does anyone know which bank will offer me a CD Line of Credit in the US more specifically in the Florida/Georgia area? Thanks.

Ok let's say you have both an unsecured credit line with your bank and a checking account. If you file backruptcy do you have to close your checking account, or does the bank close the checking account. If the bank does close the account what happens to the monies in the checking account?

Banks rarely close checking accounts that are in good standing when a bankruptcy is filed.

HELP! My crazy husband sold a car over the weekend and accepted an $1800 check from a family. The lady assured him the check was good and said it was her "home equity" line. The check just says Charter One, but no address or contact number for the bank. I will be taking it for deposit to my credit union today, but is there a way for me to verify that it is good prior to waiting to see if it bounces??? We live in Georgia and find no brances in this state. Any advice?

Did you get proper ID from the person who wrote you the check?

at atlanta, georgia and buy property there. i have been on line and i'm listed with a real estate agency. Do you think i will find it real differcult perchasing a relatively cheap piece of property in georgia. I'm also a young senior on a fixed income and not ready for a senior citizen place or any of that type of residential living.

It should work for you. Properties in Georgia are still pretty cheap. And fixed income isn't too much of a problem. I have programs that are called "No Ratio" tailor made for senior on fixed incoms as long as the credit looks okay, you can proceed.
