I wanted to close a card that i've had for about 4 months. It's a card from Citi bank; and I have 2 other ones. They said that they could transfer the credit line and transaction history (need to double check on that one) to one of my other cards. Would it affect my credit score, even though I'm closing an account but keeping the same amount of available credit?
It may affect your score a little bit .... but not by much ... and not for very long. As long as your total amount of credit available does not decrease, closing an account will not affect the score. Opening a new card would drop the score a few points ... but not enough to worry about.
Bottom line ... there may be an affect on your score ... but not enough to worry about.

I have a Circuit City Rewards card that I used to purchase a TV a few years ago.
It now has a zero balance and is now worthless from a rewards perspective.
What happens to the line of credit? Should I close the account now? Rip up the card? Both.
Thanks for any advice.
Zero balance guys....zero balance. Thanks.
I deal w them cards, and the circuit city card is being switched over to a Chase card. Your available credit will not change, the only thing is changing is the name of the card and the rewards program. You should receive a letter explaining the changes to your acct...

FHA loan does not allow a down payment to come from a credit card loan, or any other type of loan. But, someone mentioned after two months, the deposited credit line in the a checking account becomes considered as savings. Right or wrong??
It might work by taking the cash out of the credit card months before you intent to apply for the FHA loan, keeping it in a savings account all the time.
But the problem is that the credit card cash advance shows up as a high balance on this account on your credit report and most likely you will be asked to have all credit card balances down to below 10% of their limits or even at Zero.
So getting the money out and passing it off as a legitimate savings will backfire because now you have a high credit card balance that they want you to pay off before you can get the loan.... wich means you either pay off the credit card fast or use the "saved" money to pay it off again and you are back to where you started... No substantial savings for a down payment on the house.

I currently have four business accounts (Dell, Staples, Office Depot and Exxon). I would like to get a business line of credit or credit card without a personal guarantee, so I can eventually have a business profile under my company name. All of my credit cards are in good standing. But I don't want to have my personal debt tied in with the business debt.
I keep getting offers from Advanta but they ask for the Social Security Number for the business owner. Where can I go to get business credit solely based on the company's Tax ID Number? All of the other credit card accounts were obtained this way.
Do you have any suggestions?
Business credit cards come with a variety of reward options. Travel rewards, stay in hotel, cashback, savings on courier services etc. are some of them. The type of your business and services you require can be compared with various business credit card offers and the most suitable credit card can be applied for.
More money when you need it most
Business credit cards are specially designed to cater to large funding requirements of businesses. The credit limits on business credit cards are higher than normal credit cards. So, you are doubly sure to get that large expense properly handled without any anxiety.
Easy application process
If you have an established business, business credit cards are very easy to get. Small businesses or fresh startups need not worry here, because credit card companies are equally eager to give business credit cards to companies with good prospects and to those who show promise. So, even if you are just starting, you can get a business credit card.

I have one credit card with a credit line of 400(cash line of 80$). I know the max I can draw from an ATM is the 80$. But is there any way I can go into the bank and get the credit line deposited into my bank account?
The only way would be to do a cash withdrawal, then put the cash in your bank account.
Of course, the APR on a cash withdrawal is usually INSANELY high, so make sure you're willing to throw that money away in the form of finance charges.
Some cards will occasionally offer checks that you can write against your credit card balance, in which case you could probably write one to "Cash" and cash it, but those aren't that common.

Credit Card Strategy - Credit Card Outlaw
Credit card strategy is necessary when dealing with credit cards for the first time. Or when trying to recover from existing debt.
They can be a tremendous asset, or a serious adversary... Perfect example: when I was in college, before I had even $1 of income, I was offered close to $20,000 total credit line amongst all of my credit card accounts. (Of course, at the time I was dumb and loved the huge credit line.)
It's just insane. A student with no income, and they were giving me $20,000 of unsecured credit.
Lol.
Of course, this is how they suck you in... textbook purchases, then Starbucks, then a few nights out drinking. Before you know it, you have $5,000 or more in credit card debt, with no active income to pay it off swiftly. They make a in interest charges as you slowly pay it down, $100 or $200 at a time.
