How come my credit score online powered by Experian is different from auto dealers credit score?also Experian

I just recently applied for a new car credit loan and found out my FICO score is 100 points different from my on-line FICO score both powered by Experian. I applied 2 dealers with the same score but different from my on-line credit report. I dont understand why???.
100 points below my on-line score???
I CHECK MY SCORE ON THE SAME DAY I APPLIED TO COMPARE WITH THE DEALER!!!

There are around 20+ different types and measures of FICO scores. The most common are Experian, Transunion, Equifax...etc. Car Dealership uses there own method and tell you the score that will make you pay the highest APR.

Should I do the On line Credit Application for Chrysler?

To get the pre approval? Or Go to a dealer?
Are there any benefits?
HELP!

go to the dealer
the finance managaer can look over your app and only submit to the banks he thinks will approve you ...leaving less marks on your credit ..besides that includes your local banks
the online application is probably only factory finacing

I have near-perfect credit and got a sweet loan from my bank. Will the car sales(wo)man resent me?

I believe I may be a car salesperson's worst nightmare.

By the time I arrive at the lot, I will already have financing lined up (through my credit union, which offered me a low rate, because my credit score is a near-perfect 796).

I know exactly what model, make and color of car I want, and plan to order from the factory because no local dealers have a car with my exact specifications. I will walk away if the dealer tries to sell me a car off their lot.

I plan to summarily & firmly reject all offers of dealer financing, as well as extras such as extended warranty, rustproofing crap, Lojack, etc,,

If the dealer makes me put a deposit on a factory-ordered car, I will, but only if the dealer guarantees (in writing) that it's fully refundable.

Furthermore, I'm a cynical, mistrustful, Edmunds-spouting jerk. I am sure the dealer won't be able to screw me, but I am wondering how they will treat me in return for my toughness?

(no offense to any car salesperson reading this)
To the first responder (Brutally Honest). Thanks for your answer, it's very thoughtful. I can't pick a Best Answer yet (too early) but let me just add that I do intend to purchase Lo-jack for sure. I just don't want to purchase it from the dealer.

You know I like your style and I been selling vehicles for over 30 years and now retired.

I have answers many questions about vehicle's in this forum trying to preach how to buy a car, you really come across the right way and consumers will benefit your approach, but the problem I have found is whom has got the time to do a little homework in this fast paced world we live in, and when someone gets the short end of the stick then lets blame it all on the dealership.

I would appreciate you reading some of my website as everything I am trying to teach consumers your saying. http://www.usedcartips.org/

Financing through a dealer?

I am planning to get a used car within this year. I tried getting a line of credit through my bank but got denied. What are the pros and cons of getting financed through a dealer?

If you got denied through your bank then you will either 1. come up with bigger down payment, 2. make at least 1500.00 a month, be on same job for 1 year and one year at same residence and have 8-10 referals besides utility bills, paychecks, and other mail proving your address. This is because dealers use same banks you go to that denied you. You most likely will have to go secondarey bank which you will pay high interest, at least 1/3 down payment and the vehicle has to be priced within NADA guidelines in other words the bank will tell you how much you can borrow and on which car. Their are no cons since dealers get a better rate the you can due to using bank with a lot of business. they get a rate up to 2 poits below what the public can get. A dealer cannot charge more then 2 points above their rate. They also do all paperwork and title work so it is easier then shopping rates which at this point is not wise as yu might have to get something less then you want and prove your credit reliability. If it is real bad the you will need cash or do not meet above requirements wil need cash and pay ALL bills on time.

What Are The Chances of Getting A Line of Credit When You Have?

Had a car reposessed , stiffed utility companies to the point that they will not turn services on in your name until you pay outstanding previous bills and have other companies after you for non payment..The reason I ask is I just found my name on Intel people search at an address I NEVER lived at or had any associaton with , it is a relatives address and phone # on the Intel search and he does have access to my SS# and personal information because he works in the office where I'm employed , in the last couple of months I know he did get a new computer from Dell on a payment plan , and now he is going to dealers looking at new cars...Do you think some how he got credit some place????

The chances of getting credit under those circumstances are slim.

It sounds to me like your relative has stolen your identity. Go right now and get a credit report. You can get a free on at http://annualcreditreport.com . They'll try to upsell you on other services, but just get your free report.

Look to see if there are any loans or lines of credit that you didn't open. There could also be collections on it if your relative hasn't been paying.

If he did steal your identity, you have the option of trying to work it out with him or filing a police report and pressing charges. The link below explains how to report identity theft.

At the very least, put a fraud alert on your credit file to prevent any new accounts from being opened.
