Dream on no such animal. They do nothing you can not do and it takes time to rebuild your credit after you get it all straightened out.

I have paid for alllllll of my old collection accounts and I'm just waiting for them to drop off of my credit reports. I've been looking into credit repair service on line and wondering if they can actually help. All of the items on my reports are actually MINE and I did actually owe them, but they are all FINALLY paid off. Is there any hope to get them removed quickly?

no but i used orchard bank and they have been terrific with me helped me get my credit back up and gave me card below 15% APR
Does anyone know of a store card (NOT a secured Visa or MasterCard) that has proven results for re-building credit history? In other words, a relatively low interest rate (preferably below 20%), or a low annual fee or a low line of credit ($500 or less) so I can give my friend some suggestions when she eventually asks me for them?
I work in the credit card industry, and I know firsthand that the type of credit card that you're asking for doesn't come around that often. Orchard Bank(HSBC) is the only thing that even comes close to what you're looking for. There are some non-secured cards out there with low limits, but a lot of them are loaded with hidden fees that take up the majority of the available credit before the card is even activated for use.
To be honest, secured cards are the better option, becuase if you're going to have to put up any of your own money, it might as well go to a deposit that you have a chance of getting back, instead of throwing it away on hidden fees. At least with the secured card, you can set your own limit. Also, knowing that the deposit is your own money, you're more likely to be conscious of how the card is managed, which gives more incentive to keep the balance paid off on time every month.
My suggestion is that you shouldn't purchase more than what you're able to pay off on time every month, which means, make small purchases, then pay it off every month. This way, you're building credit without seriously going into debt.
I posted the link to Orchard Bank and a couple of the best secured cards out there. Hopefully, this will help
Good luck!
I'm recently working on getting divorced & my credit was badly damaged because of that. My bank is working with me to help me recover, but I am looking for a basic credit card, not necessairily a large line of credit, and one with REASONABLE fees and interest rates. Also, looking for credit repair services that really work and that areasonably priced.
I would to have to say honestly that I wouldn't do that if I were you. I would not go in that direction. I wouldn't want to be in your shoes when the bill comes in for that credit card(s) start coming in cause in the long run you will have you self A NICE BIG FAT HOLE DUG AND it will take a long time to dig your way out, and then it will take you a much longer time to really get any kind of credit and NOT JUST WITH A BANK . My husband & I did it once with a gas card thought we were smart . In the long haul of it all it took forever to pay it off cause IT'S LIKE HAVING ONE OF THOSE REVOLVING accounts & when the bill arrives, IT COME IN WITH LARGE FEES AND percentages attached TO THEM too !! It may take awhile to rebuild your credit with you being single but you would be better off waiting awhile than to put yourself into that kind of debit especially with a divorce and all. BE PATIENT AND WAIT THAT'S MY ADVICE. I DON'T BELIEVE YOU would be very happy if you put yourself in that kind of debt !!
