I just applied to crown jeweler to fix my credit and i just wanted to know are they one of a kind because i need one more line of credit and ill be good

had the potential renter fill out and application and sign approval for me to do a credit check. Now I'm having a problem figuring out how. If I go to equifax.com, it asks for all my information for my credit check but not how to do it on someone else. Do I just fill in his information as if I'm him but use my email address? Any suggestions?

I also contacted a local rental screening agency but they require an annual membership which is overkill to rent one house.

Do not do as you suggest at Equifax.com, that is fraud and you will not obtain a report.

You can obtain a credit report on a tenant by joining a service to do so.

Not all services charge and annual fee. The reason that you have to join is that you need to meet certain requirements, provide specific documentation that you own the home and have the applicant's permission to run the report.

Both are fairly cheap and easy to set up accounts with. Neither has an annual fee - they only charge per report.

I'm moving into a new house next Friday so have contacted BT for a phone line, but they wanted to do a credit check on me.

I am debted up to my eyeballs with credit cards but have never missed a bill or mortgage payment or anything and I'm not very happy about having a credit check.

I didnt have to have one when I was with Telewest so why do I have to have one now?

BTW, Dont want to go back to Telewest as I want to get SkyTV
I never had to have credit checks for telewest, it was all paid a month in advance apart from the call charges. And I have never had to do it with british gas.

The thing is, I am behind on my credit card bills, I am currently using a debt management company. But I'm not late on any utility bills.

actually im finding this a bit wierd. I have been involved in 5 different lines at 4 locations in the last 3 years the latest being last month and BT have never asked myself or the other people involved to do a credit check ? Maybe they did the checks without asking but i somehow doubt it ? Quite strange.

I found out my ex-husband did an on-line credit check and I have the proof he did it. If there is a law for this, where can I get a copy of the statutes?

The Fair Credit Repprting Act makes it illegal for a person to obtain an unauthorized credit check on another person. Call the Federal Trade Commission consumer line and report him. The Federal Trade Commission will be able to let you know if he did violate the law. Look up the FTC on their website ftc.gov.
