6.5 Minutes of a 25 minute phone conversation I had with a Capital One floor manager regarding high interest rate. It's disheartening with ...
On 23 Oct 06, I sent 7,145.00 dollars to Capital One . It was paid on line and my bank(Bank 0f America) sent the payoff electronically to Capital One. Bankcard Svcs had purchased this account unknown to me. Numerous phone calls to Bankcard, Bank of America & Capital One, also several E-Mails and five months later Capital One still has my $7145.00. All the monthly pymts of $75.00 had been sent from Capital One to Bankcard Svcs. The last one being 1 Oct 06. I need this matter resolved. Thank You Carl Landes
I recommend getting an attorney. You would want an attorney who is qualified to do business on credit matters.
My credits very new, I just turned 18 but got a credit card from my bank in april 08 the credit line is 250 and the interest rate is 7.9%. I just got approved for a capital one card with a credit line 500 with an interest rate of 19.8% but it's 0% until may of 2009. I know the interest rate is pretty high and i'm not worried about that. I was wondering if I made the right choice, the card i picked does not have an annual fee. the other 3 do, and it varies from 19-29 dollars but the interest rates are lower ranging from 14.9-16.9%
Looking at it now, I don't know if it was better to pick one without an annual fee (because if there is one then I feel like your just paying to have the card) and higher rates or the other way around.
Any one have any feedback? =\
This is more of an emergency card just in case that helps
Always go for the account without an annual fee. If you only charge what you can afford to pay in full each month, the interest rate makes no difference.
Best way to build your credit is to use both cards for small purchases every month and pay the full balance when the statement comes. This will give you a good payment history, avoid paying interest, and keep you out of debt.
I am 24, and I have a equifax credit fico score of 750.
I have 3 credit cards (2 of them I no longer use but still open). 1 department store credit card, 2 by banks. I haven't used those 2 cards for about 2 years, and I do have credit line higher than 5000.
Will opening another credit card hurt me? I want to get a capital one credit card for going abroad, they have 0% foreign transaction fee.
Should I close the two credit card that I no longer use?
Thanks
How many credit cards people have makes no difference what doe's is how they manage them, having another credit card will actually help you since it will lower your debt to credit ratio which makes up a full 30% of your score.
I would not close the others but you do need to use them before they get canceled, just buy some everyday thing that you would normally pay cash for and then pay the card off in full when you get the bill you should do this at least once every quarter.
okay so i have a bank of america credit card and my credit line was 600 i have been paying since august of 06 and im only at 500 because of a late payment and stupid proactive kept charging and it went over my limit so im stuck here, i received a 300 card limit with capital one but havent activated it. i was wondering do u think it is better if i pay 300 or so with the capital one to my bank of america to get somewhere and then make payments to capital one? i just want to get that bank of america lower...thanks any answers can help.
also last year as well my mother-in-law opened up an avon account with me under my name she said we get half off on the first 4 orderes so i agreed to sell the first four orders however i then received a statement under my name for 678.00!! she said she made those orders and will pay it, well it is now 2007, a year later and its like 628 and they are still calling me, i cant get an increase in my bank of america card because of this! what should i do?
also she is the one paying off the avon and i had no problem because she was paying it monthly but then i started getting calls that they wanted it alreayd and its affecting my credit, it is under my name but she was using it for her avon and paying it , is there a way i can transfer that to her avon account?
If you can't pay one credit card how are you going to pay 2? I don't see any way of getting the Avon off your card and on to hers. The only thing you can do is ask for all the money she charged on your card and use it to pay on your card. Do not start another card at this point.
