I have a credit card Bank Of America. with credit line 4000$. I have had this card for 2 years. I dont like this card much. I would like to apply a new credit card in Bank of America which is World Visa (just bank of america only). Do you think that should I apply the World Visa card or should I convert my old card to World Visa? Which way is better ? dont hurt my credit score? and maybe I want to increase my credit line too?
Converting is usually better since BofA does not pull a hard inquiry, and you don't end up with a new account.
Both factors will decrease your FICO score.
*IF* you want a larger credit line, convert, then ask for a credit limit increase, that is usually done with a soft pull, which does not affect your FICO score.
Bank of America's Jeff Crawford in charge of the existing credit card accounts for the bank responds to my request to discuss credit card ...
just to see if it was true i tried to see if i could increase my credit line to 10,000 dollars from 5,000 on my bank of amercia credit card options in my online account and in seconds it said i was approved....can this be true????????/
Um.. If they said you were approved, chances are you are. You should check back in 24 hours and see if your credit limit reflects the change.
Congratulations though. 10k is a lot, just be careful with it.

I called to check on the status of my application and hear it is "temporarily approved pending two confirmations." These include making sure my house is not in a flood zone, and the value of the house. In order to do this, the application has to be assigned to someone, and that has not been done in over a week.
Since I am requesting under $500,000, the bank absorbs the costs associated with the confirmation of the value of the house.
How long does it normally take? I assume they checked my credit score already, the purpose is to consolidate debts and I am in the red. Could they reject the application on the basis of poor credit now?
call them. they could be waiting for an appraisal, there could be a snag or two on the credit report. being is debt is usually ok its if you are behind that matters. and yes if they just pulled the credit, it can still get rejected. the process usually takes a few weeks so relax

well fargo has one also - but i have had no experience with it!!!
I applied to credit line increase on Bank of America via online and they were unable to approve an increase because of the following reasons:
-Proportion of balances to credit limits on bank/national revolving or other revolving accounts is too high.
-Length of times accounts have been established.
What do the bank with these?
PLEASE HELP..
I mean, what do the bank mean with those reasons?
The banks are saying that you are using too much of your credit limit. For example, if you have a $1000 credit limit and are using $900 then you are using 90% of your credit limit. Also, they are saying that you do not have that much of a credit history to trust you with more credit.

Re-branded IndyMac – OneWest Bank – Generates Huge Profits in ...
After acquiring the assets of failed mortgage lender IndyMac from the federal government, investors in the company re-branded it OneWest Bank, and it has soared in profits since the year they took the lender over.
OneWest paid about $1.5 billion for the assets of IndyMac, and over a period of six months which ended on September 30, net operating income came it at close to $700 million. In contrast, IndyMac suffered a loss of $614 million in 2007 from their failed mortgage portfolio.
With the recent acquisition of the failed First Federal Bank of California, the future looks even brighter for OneWest, as it has focused on expanding its business in Southern California, which First Federal gives them.
