i was looking into a career since im about to graduate high school, and this entered my mind, what exactly do they do and how many years of college do you need? also what is the salary for florida?
I presume you're talking about Certified Financial Planners. You can do research and learn a lot more about this field.
They advise clients re: how to invest their money, how to manage their money over time. I don't know about the educational qualifications, but as I say, you can search for "Certified Financial Planners" and it'll all be spelled out for you.

I'm looking into this career, but i'm not really sure of the job description, so if anyone IS a financial advisor or knows a financial advisor, feel free to give me any info/ opinions about the job. Thanks in advance!!
If you want to work on commission (typically) until you get a client base big enough to make it so you're not prospecting and working 70 hours a week just to pay the rent - good luck.
Is a bachelor degree necessary or not?
I know that a license is not necessary, but for those who want to sell stocks, bonds, mutual funds a certification is necessary; so what can a personal financial advisor do without a license?
Anyone can call themselves a personal financial adviser, but unless they are certified by a nationally recognized organization, such as the "Financial Planning Association," their advice is not worth anything. Savvy clients understand that, so you better get your certification.
But, no, you do not need a degree in financial planning...just the certification
What degree should i get and where is the best place to get a job? I would like to help people manage money and have many clients. Is this a career where you have to start from the bottom up, or can i just open some firm and look for clients on my own? Are there any special certifications that would help (like a cpa for accountants)? thanks.. if anything im guessing i can start somewhere else like an analyst and transition
Start with a degree in finance, accounting or business. You will need to start at the bottom with a firm where you will learn about the different types of investments for differing needs. Most advisors start by obtaining a Series 6 or 7 license and possible a Series 63. If your leaning towards an analyst position a degree in finance would be best but an accounting degree could also work. Most people would not want to invest with a brand new firm opened by a recent college graduate. It would be better to gain experience with an established firm and then later on you could open your own.
While you could certainly be a personal financial planning without this much education, I suggest the following:
For undergrad, definitely a business related program such as Finance or Accounting, possibly Management. From there could get some additional graduate credits, such as a Certificate in Financial Planning.
Additionally, gaining a Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, and Business Administration would help you developer a better overall understanding of finance, markets and business. It also demonstrates a certain level of professionalism on your part, which could be important to gaining clients.
Finally, in order to practice in a given state as a personal financial advisor, you may need to register with that state. In order to do this you may need to take some certification tests, such as a Series 65 (if taken, the personal financial certification should have prepared you for this)
Generally (it could vary state by state) once you are registered in the state, you can begin practicing as a personal financial advisor. Once you can demonstrate 3 years of full-time Personal Financial Advisor work and you pass another certification test, you can become a Certified Financial Planner, which is a desirable certification in the personal finance industry.
