I'm getting job offers from Transamerica, Mutual of Omaha, Ameriprise, and Cornerstone America (HealthMarket). The Job position is Sales Rep/Financial Advisor.
I'm new to the insurance (Life/Health/ect.) and financial planning industry so I need some insider information about these companies.
Go to each company's website and do a little research. Ususally, companies post information about the corporate culture, and the benefits to employees. That should help a bit. Also while you are there, you can check out their latest annual reports, and compare as to which is the most profitable or which is under financial constraints.

Stay away from AIG for obvious reasons.

I wouldn't think of these as job offers. Don't be fooled that you will only be able to eat what you produce. Do some research into the market that you might want to focus on long-term and take the position with the company that will most closely match your interests so that you can learn. Chances are that you will not be with the same company that you start out with for more than 3 years, so take this as an opportunity to learn.

Transamerica Financial Advisors, Inc. (TFA), an indirect subsidiary of AEGON N.V., provides investments and financial planning to clients nationwide. With a network of more than 700 registered representatives, 42 offices of supervisory jurisdiction (OSJ) branches and 51 home office staff, TFA is a rapidly growing enterprise whose independent representatives faced the growing cost of paper-based processes: misplaced documents, time-consuming manual workflows, express-mail costs and file storage expenses.
TFA was also concerned about the delay of processing transactions submitted by mail and the regulatory challenges of retention requirements.
