I need someone who prepares taxes as well. I need someone who can 1) find ways to reduce my tax liabilty 2) help me set up an investing strategy long term 3) Be knowledgeable in investments that can reduce my current tax liability from my income. I am wary of mutual funds with tons of fees and want someone who can give straightforward advice.
If I were you, I'd go into a couple of businesses and ask who they get to do this for them. This is the best way to find a good advisor/accountant/solicitor. I did this and it saved me heaps. Go into business and just ask around. Also, ask at the bank. They might be able to recommend someone. However, be careful. Some businesses might get kickbacks, so stay away from financial businesses.
Chances are someone else has been in a similar situation as you. Most people are quite happy to give word of mouth recommendations. I found THE BEST accountant doing this. Unfortunately I'm in sunny Australia, so that doesn't do you any good.
Best wishes
A sneak peek into the Grand Opening of my Edward Jones branch in North Miami Beach, FL.
I'm an American from Boston and I'm about to finish college. I'm tired of the cold miserable weather so I've decided I'm going to move to somewhere warm and sunny year-round where I can get a good job with my degree. I've narrowed my move down to either Los Angeles, California, or Miami, FL. My ony problem is that I only speak english. I am aware that Los Angeles is flooded with Mexicans and Miami is Flooded with Cubans, so do I need to take the time and effort to learn Spanish if I'm going to be moving to these places, or is it really not that necessary?
Additional Information:
I don't know if my career factors into this, but I'm going to be an Accountant / Financial Advisor
oh come on people, NO it is NOT necessary.
Could it come in handy? Absolutely! There are a lot of people in both LA and Miami who speak little to no English, so learning Spanish might be a good idea.
Also, if you're wanting to be an Accountant or Financial Advisor (or really, most professions), you might get more business if you can speak Spanish, so again, not necessary but a good idea.
And hey! If nothing else, learning a second language is fun and gives you additional skills! Can't really find a downside to it other than the effort put into it. Sounds like, in your situation though, the effort will be well worth it!
I did read about this in the 90's but was so busy doing business, I didn't pay much attention....although I had a bad impression of Clinton because of these questions.
BUSH and his illegal war & countless abuse of power, succeeded in erasing this from my memory.

What are some sources of your information? The only person on the list I ever heard of was Vince Foster. How do I know all these other people had any relationship to Clinton or if they even existed?
I have had an uncle, a cousin, a brother in law, two friends and two co-workers all commit suicide. Another uncle and my wife's cousin both died under mysterious circumstances. Four school mates and another cousin died in auto accidents, and my brother's girl friend was murdered back in the 1970s. My sister in law's parents died in an airplane crash. The guy who helped me move had one brother murdered and another who died in an accident. An ex-girlfriend of mine had her husband murdered and her son died in a car wreck. Does that mean I had them all killed?

Obama to meet economic advisers to offer new plans
By TERENCE HUNT, AP White House Correspondent 6.35 am EST19 Sept
MIAMI - Barack Obama turned to a team of advisers that shaped America's economy in happier days to fashion fresh ideas for calming the stomach-churning financial crisis that has thundered from Wall Street to Main Street.
Some of the most respected names in the business world were pitching in Friday, including billionaire investor Warren Buffett, former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker, former Treasury secretaries Robert Rubin, Lawrence Summers and Paul O'Neill and Laura Tyson, former head of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Clinton...
Doug Holtz-Eakin source
Holtz-Eakin is a formerly respected academic and government economist who has been reduced to making distortionary arguments to paper over the massive deficit black hole McCain's tax cuts would create.
Arthur Laffer source
Laffer is the originator of the Laffer curve, the fringe view that claims government revenue increases when tax rates are lowered. There is zero empirical evidence this is true at current tax rates. McCain has repeatedly said that he believes this foolishness, but Holtz-Eakin has said (also repeatedly) that McCain does not.
Phil Gramm source
Gramm is a lobbyist who was vice president of one of the investment houses most heavily implicated in the mortage industry scandal. As a senator he pushed for the banking deregulation that contributed to the current crisis. See more here.
Kevin Hassett source
Hassett has been widely ridiculed for writing the book Dow 36000: The New Strategy for Profiting from the Coming Rise in the Stock Market in 1999, predicting that the Dow would hit 36,000 within five years, if not sooner.
Donald Luskin source
Luskin has been repeatedly named the Stupidest Man Alive by Brad Delong. See here for an example. I can attest based on my own interaction with him a few years back that in addition to being not the sharpest tack in the box, he is also an extremely unpleasant person.
Nancy Pfotenhauer source
Pfotenhauer is a pure distilled product of Koch Industries, an oil company which funds much of the right wing message machine. See here for details.
Carly Fiorina source
Fiorina was spectacularly fired from her previous job as CEO of HP. According to the Times,

Make sure the lender is endorsed by someone in the know… not necessarily someone you just, well… know. Okay, that is a somewhat of a charged statement, so indulge me a moment to elaborate. Obviously if you have someone you have used in the past and had momentous success with – by all means… they have earned your business and you should reward that kind of above-and-beyond service. This Tip is really to warn those that are tempted to use the infamous “sister’s best friend’s cousin half-brother”. The new world of real estate finance has chewed and spit out 70% of the people in it and now is no time to go soft on this part of the decision to buy.
