Lincoln Financial Advisor

I have a lot of experience within the financial services industry(trader and analyst), but new to the financial advisor role. I am looking for the best way to build a sizeable book of business. I have also talked to some people from LPL about joining their practice.

With all of my experience I feel that Lincoln or LPL would be better than going with a wire house.

at an office, what would be the best way for me to plan for retirement, edward jones, ag edwards, lincoln financial, ect... what would be best for me an IRA, 401K, CD, ect... i'm confused because i feel that even by talking to financial advisors i still wouldnt know how to pick what is best for me. how can i make order out of all of this confusion? in the distant future i may want to change jobs again in order to find a better paying job but am not sure if i should wait until i reach the "pinnacle" of a career so like that i can stabilize myself even further in order to start planning for retirement. i know that the earlier the better but in my case things might continue to fluctuate.... not just that but i feel that i have done my homework but dont fully understand how all of this retirement mumbo jumbo works. i wanna feel comfortable that before investing my hard earned money that the day i retire i can live very comfortably. can anyone please help out in sorting this confusion. thanks.

Good advice already given. Use what plans are available to you.

If the employer offers one that is usually the best because they often contribute. If not you can open your own IRA. That "which plan" is separate from "In what? or Where? you should invest your money.

For a novice I like the target date retirement plans, like a " target 2050" or the "lifestyle" plans. These are balanced funds that use indexes for huge diversification. They do your rebalancing for you. It is about as close to a good "automatic" type investment as they come.

If later you learn more about investing and want to do more yourself you can always move the money to other funds or open new ones.

McCain has a lot more dirt on him then Obama, and Obama has so much more money then his campaign that it wouldn't be difficult to make it stick. Will I start seeing TV ads about:

1: The $112,000 Charles Keating gave John McCain in campaign contributions, and the nine plane trips McCain took on Keating's private airplanes while he was committing racketeering and fraud that would lead to a 12 year prison sentence. Keating was criminally charged with having duped Lincoln Financial's customers into buying worthless junk bonds of American Continental Corporation; he was convicted in state court in 1992. Just curious, why was McCain flying around the world with such an unsavory character while he was scamming people?

I'm skeptical, but I will keep an open mind.

What are some sources of your information? The only person on the list I ever heard of was Vince Foster. How do I know all these other people had any relationship to Clinton or if they even existed?

I have had an uncle, a cousin, a brother in law, two friends and two co-workers all commit suicide. Another uncle and my wife's cousin both died under mysterious circumstances. Four school mates and another cousin died in auto accidents, and my brother's girl friend was murdered back in the 1970s. My sister in law's parents died in an airplane crash. The guy who helped me move had one brother murdered and another who died in an accident. An ex-girlfriend of mine had her husband murdered and her son died in a car wreck. Does that mean I had them all killed?
