I had received an e-mail from Green Solutions, Inc. telling me about a position as a financial agent.
It is a work-at-home position and all communication will be online. There is a trial period of one month, where the new agent is paid $1500 a month plus an eight percent commission. Internet access and a bank account are required. apparently, the job entails receiving funds from stockbrokers and other clients, and channeling the funds to the client specified in the contract.
Do any of you have any experience working in this type of job? If so, what were your experiences? (You do not have to reveal the names of clients.)

I'm a non traditional college student reconsidering his major--working from home is likely what I want to do (I know because I've had a lot of jobs in my past). So what kind of careers offer the opportunity to telecommute? I only have about five years of experience in basic-level management. Oh yeah and anything dependent on good credit history is out of the question (like financial adviser, planner, etc). Also, computers and/or engineering cannot be considered because of the time demanded from the requisites of those majors.

Travel agent or tour guide for overseas tours are the ones that come immediately to mind. Although with the economy the way it is, it might not be the best time to get involved in those professions.
I am a financial adviser/insurance agent with Series 7, 66, Life & Health. I want to quit my job so that I can work from home, and want to find a company that I can work for part time. I plan to sell, but I do not want to have minimum production requirements.
What would be reputable companies that I can work for?
Is it normal to pay them for keeping my licenses active? How much?
I can't speak to the financial brokerage side, but for Life & Health you can typically get appointed directly with the carriers or with a general agent. There are no production requirements. You will have to pay your E&O. Talk to many local independent brokers/agencies in your area.
my father in law is a private financial advisor and im following in his footsteps...i am life insurance licensed and i am working on getting security licensed, i plan on taking over his buisness when the time comes and i really see this job as opposed to my military job my career.I was supposed to deploy this last summer but while i was in my pre deployment medical screening i was told due to a medical condition i was not able to deploy. So i am non deployable...I have often had to cancel appointments with clients and miss valulable classes and sceminars which cost me alot of money due to drill weekends and annual Training. My traveling schedule is very busy, i am often gone from thursday to monday meeting with clients and when im back at the office on tuesday and wednesday im proccesing the buisness i just did. i meet with my clients over the weekends because they are usually home then as opposed to during the normal workweek. so once a month i cannot meet with clients, and as i am a commision based salesman this affects me and my paycheck greatly..i am truely loosing money going to drill. With this and other things the military has put a real strain on my carreer and my pocket. i need some advice on what i should do before i go to my chain of command about this. ive never had any disciplenary actions against me and i feel im a good soldier, 3 years ago when i joined i never thought that my life would be how it is today and ive got another 3 years to go before my contract is up... looking into the future 3 years from now theres no way the military will have room for the schedule my job expects from me...please help with some solid advice, thanks
Wow, you have managed to put yourself into jam.
At the moment, do you need the extra money for anything? babies, mortgages, etc? or is it disposable income?
The reason I ask is because I (me personally) would try to fulfill my contracts/ obligations first, then focus on me. But that being said, if your injured in some way and can't physically complete your obligation's then talking with your unit's commander about a discharge might be the thing for you.
Do not get a dishonorable discharge, it will follow you the rest of your life like an albatross around your neck.
If a dishonorable discharge is unavoidable should you leave, ask your father in law to help you run the business while your gone. Its in his best interest to see you have a decent job when entering the civilian world, or he pays for his daughter's expenses unless she is working.
Good luck, and thanks for your service!
Hello I am a at home mom, and I want to apply for a job that requires me to work with children. I want to know how should I word my title on my resume as a at home mom. Some one told me that I should put Industrial engineer. Is that true. I do a lot of multi task in my home. From organizing, Home schooling my son, financial adviser, etc.....
My husband is in the military, and the job that I want is on a military base. I already have my resume in order. I just needed to know how should I reword at home mom on my resume.
Thank you, and have a Bless Day.
Do not put Industrial Engineer on the resume, that is "see thru" fluff.
If your husband is in the military, (AD, RES, NG), you have access to the:
Navy Fleet and Family Support Centers (FFSC)
Air Force Family Support Centers (FSC)
Army Community Service (ACS) Centers
No matter what branch you husband belongs to, you have access to any branch's facility.
Go to the FSC and explain your situation, they have heard it many times before. The FSC has a resume program, guidance on building the resume, information on courses, and permits needed, Everything you need.
If you do not live near a military base, Go to the local State employment office, they have the same resources, (just longer lines)
You are not the only military spouse in this situation. Go to the FSC. They are there to help you. You will be suprised what they have to offer.
Since you didn't mention what branch of service, Go to the web site below for a starting point.
