Skiptrace Judgment Recovery provides debt relief in Brentwood, CA. For many years we have offered a wide range of services including Credit ...
I am trying to find a step by step how to guide. A lot of our original creditors have sold or transferred the debt to collection agencies so gathering information is difficult. I pulled our credit and I can find amounts but am I supposed to use original creditors or am I supposed to use whoever holds the debt currently? We can't afford to hire a bk attorney, and I promise I'm not completely incompetent. Just a little confused as I've never done this before. My husband and i would be filing together and we have about 65,000 in debt total. Also if anyone could recommend a "counseling service" I'd appreciate it. Do I go down to a superior court office? Thank you
Thanks to all the rich crooks in the Senate in Wash, DC, you will have to involve an attorney at some stage even if you are only filing a simple Chap 7. Worse, the new laws, which were passed by both houses of stinkin' congress, don't let you excuse all of your debts anymore. You will be stuck with payback terms.
You will have to take the correct forms, about 25 pages of them, to the Federal Courthouse near your home which services your Bankruptcy District.
The forms are here: http://www.uscourts.gov/bkforms/
and the best self-help manuals--possibly available at your library--are from http://www.nolo.com/
Good luck and stay strong.

Will Paying Off My Debt Help My Credit | Loans - Credit - Debt ...
Credit is one of the most important items that you can have in your life, when it comes to your financial well being. Having good credit allows you to buy a car, purchase a home, get into college, and make everyday purchases. Many times, you will find people do not make the best decisions when it comes to their credit. They may use their credit card too much, or not pay back their loans on time. Luckily, there are ways to help your credit score increase. One of the many questions people ask themselves is “Will paying off my debt help my credit?”
The debt to credit ratio is rather important when your credit score is determined. Other factors such as timely payment, new accounts, and length of credit history also play major roles as to what your credit history is to look like. Also the amount of debt you have acquired will also play a part. If you are carrying a large amount of debt on your shoulders, try to pay it down as quickly as possible.
