Phone Credit Card Processing

I am a small business owner, and hate to use the land line since I am constantly moving, but one the other hand, I must accept the credit card (visa, and Mastercard), like to find a good, low cost solution for credit card processing through my celluar phone, the volumn is not high, at max to about 25 times per day.
By my understanding, dail the 800 number and talk to the 800 service is all what the credit card terminal need to do with the merchant service, so if I can use the current credit card terminal plus a converter which can convert the phone jack to import the terminal line to my celluar line, it should ok.
Please share me with your experience and advices. Thanks.

Try contacting these guys. They do a lot with cell phone interfaces.

I was wondering if it was possible for me to take down a customer's credit card information over the phone and process the payment myself through Paypal. Do they have a special service for this? Or do I simply add the customer's order to my cart and checkout as if I were the customer. I'm a little afraid about this method because I don't want a customer coming back saying they did not authorize me to do this.

THEY have to though paypal and usisng your email;
that how they pay you
you cant do it by phone

My pay pal fees just went up so I'm looking to see if there's a better deal out there. Looking for:

* Credit Card Processing (both online and over phone. No terminal needed, but I won't say no if it's free).
* E-commerce shopping cart
* Secure Server seal, etc
* Bonus: If my small firm can accept checks over phone, etc.

Simple Payment Systems is truly the absolute best for credit card and electronic check processing. The electronic check processes the check like a credit card. The the check is deposited into your account ASAP from your business. If it is bad you know right away. I have done research for a long time. They give you free equipment, free training, free software- with a check out cart! (if you have a web site also that you want to sell items on.) They beat discount rate quotes that you give them too. They have 24 hour live help, which is handy. FDIC insured. Make sure you tell them you want the free program. We switched from another company over to them. And have never been happier. Go to their web site and call them or fill out the form and they can contact you. At least they can give you some direct answers also. :-) I did countless hours of research! Trust me they are the BEST.

CC Bill handles my website billing but they dont offer a processor for operators/phone calls unless its a click to call button from my site. I need an 800 # that the caller can enter their card # in with an automated system.

I have a small business with very minimal credit card usage. I bought a handheld swiper from Propay online thinking it would be just fine for my usage...and am being told by a guy who sells much more expensive machines that mine will be not usable in about 6 months because of some new laws and that Visa is cracking down on the swipe and transfer data via internet or cell phone type credit card processing that I bought. Any idea if this guy is just trying to sell me with the fear tactic- that mine will be obsolete...or if it's a legitimate point he is making.

Sounds like scare tactics and shady sales techniques to me. There are no laws affecting cell phone or Internet processing how they described it. If Internet processing was being "cracked down on" in the manner they were insinuating then ecommerce would come to a grinding halt.

FYI, there are rules affecting how the security of Internet transactions. It's called PCI DSS. It shouldn't affect your hand held unit, however.

I should point out that there are some older mobile processing equipment that are obsolete for various reasons, most of them being the wireless service they use being declared obsolete and shut down. Unless your processor has specifically told you that you can't use your unit I wouldn't think twice about what that guy says.
