Pay Credit Card Online

As in transfer money from my checking account to my credit account? Does that count as the payment? Is this how I can pay my credit card online?

correct. The bank will transfer from checking to credit card at your payment authorization. They are treated as separate accounts. You can even write a check to pay the credit card, and mail it in or deliver it to any bank branch by the payment due date.

I want to know which is the fastest way to pay credit card bills online; either using a Bank's Bill Pay service or using a Credit card's service of paying the bill online.

The banks bill pay service usually takes several days to process. The only exception is if you have your credit card with your bank, in that case the payment is very fast. I like to go to the credit card site directly and pay it through there. Most cards will post the payment by the next day (I have one that doesn't post for two days).

My dad says I can't pay it until I get a bill in the mail but it's already online (it's a Bank of America line of credit)...a Platinum plus visa card.

I didn't get a bill in the mail but it's doesn't seem to be pending anymore and I can see it under that account.

Can I pay it now? Do I need to wait? How do I do it? The demo wasn't clear?

You can make a payment at any time. You don't need a statement, though it's a good idea to check your statement over each month for unusual transactions.

You will need to go to BOA's website, and create a login. You'll also need your credit card # and a check from your bank's checking account. (it doesn't need to be a voided check - you just need the #'s on the bottom.)

Once you have created an account and logged in, you'll be able to view the details of your credit card account. Many banks are going with paperless statements, preferring you to just use their website. I still prefer to get a paper statement, however.

To make a payment, you will need to tell BOA where the money is coming from. They'll have instructions on how to do this. You'll enter the bank's name, routing # and your checking account # (these are on the bottom of your checks) Once that is done, you can schedule a payment. You'll be given the option to pay the minimum, pay the full balance, or enter in your own amount. Be sure to read the information about how long it takes for a payment to post! Some banks will date the transaction immediately (good!), but some wait up to 3 business days! Be careful so you don't end up making a late payment!

And will i be charged for paying by credit card online or not?

You need to have internet banking to be able to do that,. They won't charge you but without internet banking you can't pay it online. You can pay through automated phone service though!

I was wondering, If I pay my credit card bill online, do they get it faster then if I were to send it in the mail? Whenever I send a bill I always have to send it at least a week a head of time but If I pay it online, can I do it up to two days before the due date?

Most companies will allow you to schedule the payment up until the day before it is due. (If you wait until the due date, some will make you pay an additional fee.) If you go directly to the credit card site and schedule a payment, they will deduct it electronically from your bank account on the day you select and post it to your account the same day. If you choose online bill pay through your bank, often, your bank will deduct the money from your account, produce a paper check, and mail it to your credit card company. The most efficient way to keep the money in YOUR account until the credit card company receives it is so pay the cc company directly via their website.

I like to pay online because I can pick the exact date for the payment and can check to make sure the payment came out when it was supposed to instead of waiting to see if a check cleared the bank. My habit is to schedule at least a minimum payment as soon as I receive the bill so I'm covered if I misplace the statement.

What I do to try to pay it down faster is make multiple small payments during the month to minimize the interest charges. Instead of waiting until the due date to make one big payment, I make a smaller payment with each payday. Paying online allows me to do this easily and provides a clear record of the payments. Credit card interest is compounded daily. Adding a few days of mailing time to each month's payment could add to your overall bill in the long run.
