Hotel Credit Card

I live in Manhattan and an unusual event is taking place in Florida next month. I would love to be able to tape it for a documentary I'm doing on the topic. I need people to donate airline miles and hotel credit card points for me plus one crew member. Credit will be given in the program. How can I convince the genuineness of this and help to do this? Thanks.

You can't have mine I gave them to the victims of Katrina.

BUT it seems that if you were to name this mysterious unknown "UNUSUAL EVENT" people with interest in that event might donate.

I certainly wouldn't donate given the lack of details you provided. Is there a reason to be so mysterious about this "TOPIC"?

My family and I will be going on a cross-country road trip this summer. We want to use this as an opportunity to accumulate hotel points, and eventually utilize these points for our next trip. We can't open up a hotel credit card, because my employer will be paying for our lodging expenses (lucky us!). We simply want the points. We are considering the Marriott, but is this a wise choice? Or should we just stick to a travel agency site, like Expedia, and earn points there?

Definitely go with Hilton. You have the option of adding a rent a car and an airline to earn Hilton Hhonors points. You can use this at any Hilton property (Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn, Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites, DoubleTree, Hilton, and the exclusive Conrad Hotels and the Waldorf Astoria).

If you book through expedia, you are unable to get points there because the whole idea with the points is to create loyalty with the brand. Hilton also offers an Amex card and a Visa card, but those are seperate from the Hilton Hhonors points card.

Let's say you check into a hotel and present a valid credit card with Id and stay for one night.

The next morning you leave the hotel at 5am and don't pay or check out and take a cab to the airport.

When you get to the airport at 5:30am you call your credit card company and tell them you lost your credit card.

What would hotel staff do once you are already gone and they find out that they can't bill your credit card? Would hotel management try to reach you by mail and by phone?

This is in the united states.

Sounds like an excellent way to get another "free" stay at taxpayer expense after you get charged with credit card fraud too. As the others have told you, this won't work and could put you in a whole lot more difficulty than having to find the money for a hotel bill. The world needs more ethics, not less.

Im booking a hotel, and to do that you need a credit card. However I am paying with my debit card when i get there. Since no charges are being applied, will anything show on my credit card information?

No, it will not show on the credit card.

However, if any damages are done to the room expect them to charge it to the card. The card is for the company to have "insurance" in the event that you skip out on the bill or trash the room.

For verification, why don't you call the hotel and ask? Don't mention who you are or that you want to book a room or have already booked a room. Act like someone who is considering booking a room. Even give a fake name if you feel the need. I'm sure they will be able to inform you of their company policies much more clearly than we would.
