How do i keep my credit card magnetic strip from getting damaged in my wallet?

I keep my credit cards in my wallet but despite this the magnetic strip on each card gets damaged which renders the card useless. This has happened three times even though i changed wallets. Is there a special way to prevent this at all?


Keep it in a sleeve.

How can I protect the magnetic strip on my credit card in my wallet?

Sometimes, I need to cancel a credit card because the strip gets beat up inside my wallet from being taken in and out of it. I don't even use it that much sometimes, but when I do, the card doesn't read because it's beat up. What can I do? Put it in a plastic slip before putting it back into the wallet?

Get a wallet with proper pockets to hold cards. (I assume they still make them - my wallet is about 20 years old now)

Don't stress the cards by bending them. Don't sit or lay on the wallet for example.

Keep them away from strong magnets - including things like mobile phones and earplugs for mp3 players.

I wouldn't recommend sticking anything to the card to protect it (as in one of the other answers). One day a machine is going to eat your card and a human is going to get very suspicious that you have been tampering with it.

Is there another way to fund my PSN wallet, other than using my credit card?

Because I have problems funding my PSN wallet with my credit card. On my billing address it states that the country registered with my credit card company is the United Kingdom, and I can't change it. However, I am not registered as in the UK with my CCC.


try using gift cards
from mastercard or anything like that
