Credit Card Merchant Online

I will be opening an online store and my head is swimming from all the different options out there! I need to be able to accept credit cards (both online and offline). I'm looking for the most cost effective company with low monthly fee and low per transaction fees.
Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?
I'm located in Virginia and have a business license. I'm also set up for State Retail Taxes.

Most GOOD merchant services companies will want to be able to either visit your place of business to verify that it is a legitimate business or at least get some sales collateral that shows that your legit.

That said, I am an Independent Sales agent for NPC. If you want, I could see if I could work something out with you, provided that you're close to NY.

As I mentioned, most GOOD (honest) merchant services companies would want to verify your business so as there isn't an exorbitant amount of chargebacks and such. I would suggest contacting NPC and trying to get a hold of a local representative. http://www.npc.net

i dont trust paypal and never have. they always limit my accounts with tons of money in it and hold it for months!! then suspend it for all kinds of crazy reasons and ask for everything besides a dna test. im dont wanna bother with them. i want to sell on ebay, but no paypal. whats another credit card processor which is low cost and known? thanks!

normally the rule is that merchant credit cards are only for items only and no cash advances!!!

I want to be able to accept credit cards. Take down my clients card number and be able to charge it online w/out a card reader. I also don't want to use paypal or goggle. And the rate should be the same for personal cards as well as business credit cards. Thanks for the help.

There are lots of merchants out there that claim to have the best rates. Its really going to depend on the volume to run and the amounts. Paypal may be your best option to start with, and you can always change as your volume increases

i want to sell goods online, but i get confused about the payment method specially in accepting credit card payment. I don't want to open a merchant account which is costly. is there any other payment method.
