Can I use credit card, or credit card cheques to pay into my bank account, or someone's bank account, and how?

I know it can be done with credit card cheques, but not sure how it's done, do I just write the cheque to myself and deposit it in my account? or is there another way?

Yup, in the "payable to" line on your check, you just write your own name and bring it to the bank to deposit as if it was just any other check. I considered doing the same thing at one point because of the awesome interest rate offer, so I've called the bank to verify this.

Same applies to if you want to deposit into your friend's account - just write in their name.

MBNA drops credit card cheques

One leading credit card company has announced this week that it is to stop issuing credit card cheques. The cheques have been heavily criticised ...

How should I handle money for a month long trip to London, England? Primarily travelers cheques? Credit card?

Should I put the bulk of my spending money into travelers cheques (in pounds sterling)? Or should I primarily rely on my credit and debit cards?

I used my debit card mostly that way you avoid commissions fees at exchange places. London is very expensive so I prepaid as many activities as possible. You can purchase 'The London Pass' for about 180 USD for 6 days, and unlimited public travel for those six days. You can see hundreds of attractions with the pass. Carry as little cash as possible and I would use travelers cheques for what cash you carry. Do not exchange currency at the airport...they have the highest rates and commissions. With the London Pass you can also exchange currency commission free at certain locations. Have fun!

When will credit card cheques be banned?

I am still getting them and would like to know at point I should stop receiving them.
I am asking because I saw on the news that they were due to be banned, but I can't find out when. I have called them THREE times but they still won't take me off their stupid list.

Not soon enough. My company send them out unsolicited on a regular basis. Too many of our customers use them without realise the hidden charges.

CitiMasterCheque (credit card cheques) ... how much is the fee?

I called Citi Customer Services and they told me that they don't charge any extra fees for using the cheques.

But I went online and found out that the interest rate is around 20%.

What does the interest rate mean?

This is charged to your credit card account and you get billed this until you pay it back. In addition, this may be charged at the "cash advance" ate rather than the "purchase" rate. Some places charge a cash advance fee of 3%.
